Holy cow, I had no idea so many Childersburg-area folks were on here.

My wife graduated from Childersburg, 1982. I graduated from Weogufka in 81. The majority of our families still live in Sylacauga and Weogufka. Living in Jacksonville FL since 85 when I joined the Navy, but I get home at least twice a year. It always feels good to get home.

My family in Sylacauga has power, Weogufka? No, still using generators.

I formerly pastored in Weogufka. I have been to the old school for many a Mule-day. When I took the pastorate, not only did I find out that most people there are kin, but most of them are kin to ME. Yep, we have deep roots in Coosa and Talladega counties.

I'm a transplant! Originally from Warrior. I graduated from Corner HS in '89 and moved to Sylacauga when I met and married my wife in '99. Been teaching in the Sylacauga City Schools system for 21+ years. Retiring next Spring to pursue a different career after 27+ in education.

amazing that the great JT Daniels cant beat out the walk on QB at Ga. Talking head on wjox this morning says Ga will stick with the walk on. Kirby just seems like he isnt willing to take any chances on a mistake by a QB. He would rather have a game manager and let the defense try to win it. I just dont see that working against the best teams.
Ga vs ND would be a low scoring slobber knocker, though but that game isnt going to happen. It looks like for Ga to win the NC this year they would have to beat Alabama, Ohio St and Clemson. Zero chance.

Daniels isn't that good, and even if he was the rumors out of Athens are that his knee is completely fricked. That may just be a smokescreen to cover for Kirby once again mismanaging his QB situation, but I don't think they have any good options right now. If Beck doesn't pan out and that Vandagriff kid isn't close to ready as a freshman they may be in deep shite next year unless they can convince another good transfer to come play in a terrible system.

They did if they came through Indian Valley Elementary. I've been teaching PE here, going on 22 years!! It has been a great run, but I'm ready for a new chapter!

I did coach up until '07. Coached football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field, and even tennis from '99 thru '06. Got out of it to spend time with my own kids.

I hear you. What are planning to do in your second career, assuming that is what you plan to do.

There will be a second career. I'm approaching 50 and both kids will be in college at the same time next fall. Son will be a sophomore at UA and my daughter is looking at JSU for nursing school. I've dealt with a fundraising company for 16-17 years and they are looking for a sales rep. I feel that with my experience working with them and their products, it would be a natural fit. There aren't many reps for the state of Alabama and I could work as many schools as I want.

Anybody think Kirby might be sandbagging and will trot Daniels out there either to start the game Saturday or the minute they start to go sideways?
