Like someone else said, it's about leadership. I don't agree with BLM and I don't know if Coach does, but if you're the leader of a group that feels like it's important, you have the responsibility to take the lead. Especially when the players aren't involved with the shadier aspects of BLM and honestly just think that the issue needs more awareness.

If you don't take the lead, you give the power to someone else to shape the narrative and direction of your program. I'm not sure what's happened at LSU, but it certainly seems like O has lost the handle on his guys.

Since it’s hard to avoid politics right now I will note that I support the justified peaceful protests of the bona fide BLM movement, as I think Saban honestly does, but I despise the white punk antifa that are using BLM as cover for their own anarchist agenda

I would think that at least 99% of the people on here would agree with this statement. I know that I feel the same.

And the question remains, are those 2 elements or factions really that hard to distinguish from one another? When you hear the magical 3 letters, BLM, oftentimes you simply get a blanket reaction that has little to do with reality.

This has been the case with these protests since the beginning. If one is a racist, then one doesn't care what the ethnic mix of people are who are actually participating in these protest rallies. They don't care if just a small portion of anarchists are trying to take full political advantage of the entire movement. They certainly don't care if this BLM movement has gained traction all over the globe, in an instant of time. Or that it now has encompassed so many nationalities and races around the globe who are experiencing their own forms of racism and social inequality.

A racist doesn't care about any of this stuff. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. They are racist, it's in their heart and it might as well be chiseled on their headstone when they finally check out of here.

For everyone else, there are degrees and dimensions and layers to everything. Life is relative and you will most certainly find right and wrong in all aspects of life. Smart people know the difference, and frankly, they are the only ones out there that are really paying attention, on either side.

If he can, he should win Coach of the Year for that alone.

I was going to say that this is likely because he thinks Daniels is going to beat him out for the job, but then I saw that Daniels still hasn't even been medically cleared to play. Kirby may have really stepped in it.

I assume he was practicing? I just don’t get the continuing disconnect about committing, going to practices, and suddenly exiting stage left.

I like winning too. I like money as well.

Doesn't mean I'm going to sell my soul for either and I don't believe Saban is the type to do so as well.

He believes in his system and his kids and he backs them. We run through walls for coaches like that.

When it's a fake coach or one who's always asking you to die on the field for him or go in the dark alleys for him but won't do the same for you?

frick him

Still doesn't make much sense. Newman has the second-best odds among SEC players to win the Heisman Trophy heading into the season.

Forget Moses, they still haven't gotten over Landon Collins committing to Bama.
