Excellent news! We've badly needed a change at S&C coach for a few years now. I'd imagine Sabes will contact Moffitt and Fitzgerald (utk) first before turning attention elsewhere.

Travis Reier is saying Aaron Field from Oregon might be the guy to watch, FWIW.

Really? The moustache guy. All of our S&Cs got to have a gimmick.

The biggest risk, IMHO, is the trust Saban had in him when coaches couldn't be around. He did a lot of stuff with kids and had great relationships.

The S&C stuff is at worst a wash and possibly an improvement.

I think Cochran might be legit gone this time

I had a feeling this would happen every since Kirby left. Been rumors about this every year.

My husband has always thought that Cochran might have been a mole for Kirby these past few years anyway.

You think he has been spiking the Gatorade with a tendon weakening solution? That would explain a lot.

I hope they release a commit video for him on social media. They have to, this is right in UGA's wheelhouse.

Feld is from Homewood, and has held various strength jobs at UAB, Bama, and UNA before.

I played football with him in high school. He's intense and would be a great fit. Fwiw, he was on Kirby's staff in 2016-2017. Definitely a guy on the rise in the profession.

If we can't get Feld, I wonder what Colorado's S&C is making.

Is he a strength coach or a brew master?

I have no doubt he does both.

PODCAST: Cochran set to join UGA staff
quote:

On the heels of reports of Scott Cochran's imminent departure from Alabama as head strength and conditioning coordinator to Georgia in an on-the-field capacity, BOL staffers Travis Reier and Charlie Potter took to the Built By BamaOnLine Podcast Monday afternoon to discuss what the latest attrition to the Crimson Tide staff might mean.

Among the ramifications that were covered:
* How the latest departure of a Nick Saban era lifer might be perceived by those outside the program.
* Reasonable candidates to replace Cochran in a role he turned into one of the more visible in all of college football.
* The irony in Cochran joining UGA.
* What Cochran's biggest value as an on-the-field assistant might be.
