Ball game.

We had 18 walks.

ETA: Now that I think about it, 19 runs on 15 hits and 18 walks is pretty crappy.

Jackson Tate sporting the home run chain. He had a great night with a home run and with four RBIs.

Wrong! It's more like mid week opponents like to run a pitcher out about every inning or two in order to keep a Power 5 lineup off balance. You don't get a feel for his arsenal and you can't get timing down.

You actually used to see some of these mid-majors that would run their Friday guy out there on Wednesday and then try and bring him back for their conference on Sunday. Don't see as much of that these days.

BREAKING: Barring any hiccups the next couple of days, some massive news in the #SEC, as @AlabamaBSB LHP Connor Prielipp is expected to start Saturday afternoon against #Auburn. Prielipp had been out with soreness since making a start Opening Weekend. Game changer for #Bama.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Glad to have Prielipp back but at the same time hoping he's not too rusty. I like what a previous poster said. Start Prielipp on a pitch count and bring in Jean as a "relief pitcher"

Yep, and based on the rotation assignments released I'd guess that is exactly what they are going to do.

I'm sure he won't throw a CG, but I'm sure he's been working in the bullpen a lot leading up to this. They've probably even stretched him in the bullpen some. It's not the same as a real game, of course, but I would expect a 5+ inning outing.

I believe that thinking changed a long time ago though. Those managers figured that the 1 mid week win didn't give them any better shot of getting to post season than what winning their conference would, so they trashed that plan.
