I was initially scratching my head wondering why Deboer is bringing in another Quarterback in an already loaded quarterback room. Until I watched this kid’s senior highlights. Um, this guy is pretty good. It’s hard to tell how much a quarterback is going to transition from high school to college, but he’s got all the tools and looks really comfortable in the pocket. I thought with this new offense that either Lonergan or Sayin would win the starting spot, but I definitely wouldn’t count out this guy.

I look for Simpson to transfer in spring. Battle will be between mack and milroe. If mack wins, milroe might slide to qb2 or wildcat package/ athlete. Probably transferring after season and sayin redshirt.

If milroe wins I expect mack to transfer again

I disagree. Milroe is out. Between Simpson, Longergan, and Mack.

Longergan
This is who I think will check out first.

Ty seems committed, and is relatively versatile. Milroe will compete, and loves the team. Sayin is Sayin, so who knows. But once Mack arrives, I feel like Lonergan will transfer.

I haven't watched his highlights, but all this basically does is moves our two QB class from 2023 in Holstein and Lonergan to 2024 with Sayin and Mack since Holstein transferred out.

People freaking out over this are missing the big picture.

plus we know this one wants to play for this staff, since he transferred to do so. A bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush, or whatever

He looks good to me. Bit of a windup, but his release is pretty quick, he doesn't look like a statue despite being huge, and he's got a really strong arm. I agree with the DJ Vowels comparison.

This is what Brock Huard has to say about Mack:
quote:

Yet another gut punch to the development of young, talented players. Austin lights up a room & at 6’6 plus his presence & arm are unique.

I can promise you all the SEC scribes & Bama social sites will marvel at Mack’s set of physical traits. Cam Newton light w/a better delivery

Interesting comparison there.

Well, he probably won't have too many tipped passes.

Honestly, I wished Milroe would move to wr or a hybrid te. He might be a college qb but I just don't see a pro career there. However, if he has success at another position, I do see him making the league. He has the talent and I just hope he is willing to help the team and himself if the qb position doesn't work out.
