Those jokes about Freeze don't mean shite to most players especially if Auburn is going to sock it to their pockets. I fully expect Auburn and Freeze to have immediate success recruiting high school kids and in the portal.
Auburn was going to go whole hog on NIL regardless of who they hired. They'll be throwing money around like Aggy and Miami as early as tomorrow morning.

Actually Saban tried to hire him at Bama as OC at one time but the sec office put the stop on that. If they’re going to let Auburn hire him now then the sec office needs to stfu regarding any future hirings by any school in the sec. I want Pruitt here now and Bo Davis.

And, the SEC could've been sued for not allowing Freeze to take the Bama job. If the SEC prevents Freeze from taking the Auburn job that would be a huge lawsuit and the SEC likely wouldn't have won that because whatever punishment Freeze received is over and done with.

Yep. Zero reason to allow Sankey to have any kind of say so about who we should hire.

Oooh now this open door for pruitt.

I don't get the fear behind this. He won't be able to duplicate his success in SEC. SEC is bettet than they were when he was at Ole miss....
Well he was able to take us down twice @ ole miss. What do you think he will be able to do at Auburn?

The other win was vacated due to NCAA sanctions for cheating under Freeze’s watch.

He'll probably give us hell at Jordan Hare like literally every other Auburn coach has since 1989 and get pantsed at Bryant Denny.

Bro what are you looking at?! The SEC West is terrible. Period. Look at who the SEC West champ is now. The SEC East has one juggernaut and the rest of those teams are pretty much middling. Furthermore, with the one time immediate transfer rule, NIL, and Auburn's facilities I expect Hugh Freeze to turn Auburn around quickly.
There are recruiting realities in Mississippi that Hugh Freeze will not have to contend with. Now, Hugh Freeze is coaching at a program with a national brand. Freeze is something to contend with.

So did Gus Malzahn. So what?

No I agree with you, I was quoting someone else.

Has there ever been a more obvious and perfect fit? If he is indeed the guy, I think he'll do pretty well there. Not like national championship well (I mean for the most part - this is auburn, so that'll probably happen or nearly happen once in some bizarro-world auburn black magic season), but pretty well. And yeah, their offense will FLABBERGAST Pete and our visits to the plains will continue to be heart-stopping voodoo-laden suckfests, but that shite was happening no matter who they hired
.

The only name worth panicking over is Urban Meyer and that's not happening. Freeze is a good coach with some great seasons, but he's still an 8-5 coach on average. No one even knows his name if he doesn't beat Alabama twice

I mean, they rehired Gus Malzahn.

I’m still trying to figure out what he’s done that’s so great? He beat us twice with some new innovative offense that isn’t new or innovative anymore. He really squandered some serious NFL talent ole miss had while cheating the whole time. Auburn is hiring him with the belief he’ll make them a powerhouse. That’s literally the only way his past transgressions get forgotten. Watch him struggle with talented teams a few years and see how big the dumpster fire is

Freeze did it at a place that averaged like 5 win seasons. It's simple minded to believe he will just replicate his ole miss record at auburn. He's probabaly good for at least 2 or 3 more wins a season and a huge pain in our side.
