Our basketball team played like arse tonight and our baseball team couldn't get a hit against Henry Rowengartner pre-surgery.

However, we are the champs in the sport that really counts. Thank God for those young representatives of our university.

ETA: I'm being facetious. I'm sure our mouth breathing cousins from the East and West would love it if I was serious though.

CAJ has us headed in the right direction. I mean things could be worse. We could be fans of Auburn and L5U basketball.

Gaspard has to go. If only for retaining Andy Phillips. We'll still make a regional, something Auburn won't do, but that shouldn't be enough to keep his job.

Can't complain, CAJ exceeded first year expectations.

It was a shite end to the season, but Avery Johnson showed what he is capable of. Brought excitement to Coleman and some quality wins. This team was supposed to be a disaster this year and yet at one point were projected as a possible 10 seed in the Dance. I think the future is looking good.

I was very disappointed in the end of our season.
Coach AJ may be good, but he will need to show much improvement next season.

He did very well. I wanted more because I had faith in this team but I understand the reality of where we are. I am definitely looking forward to next year.

Last night's game looked an awful lot like the last 5-6 years... one guy dribbling around while the other four stand around and watch. No fire. No intensity. Inconsistency rules. I just don't get how they can beat some of the teams they did then turn around and lose to some very bad teams. I hope AJ turns things around, but last night was very frustrating to watch. They should have been playing their best ball toward the end of the season; instead, they seemed to fall apart.

Oh come on everybody. Just take it up the arse for now. Avery Johnson has more than exceeded expectations and I'm happy for now, even though I couldn't give any less of a frick than I already do about basketball.

That's not part of my plans now or in the future

That has largely been our offense since Ingram went down. Outside of the occasional game where someone like Norris or Edwards would get loose giving the ball to Retin was basically our entire offense. There is a reason we were picked to finish 13th in the league, we had no scorers heading in to the season and only really found 1.

Because we aren't very talented at all yet. Some games guys would get hot and we would look great. When the shots weren't falling we would look bad.

We lost all our scoring, were a horrible rebounding team, and basically since January have been playing without a PG. I don't know how anyone can be upset with this season. We finally beat some ranked teams, finally won a SEC tournament game, and made it to the postseason. That is a terrific start to Avery's career here.

Losing Retin sucks, but Ingram will be back, Hall had an impressive first season. and Nick King has apparently looked awesome in practices. This was never a one year rebuilding job.

Me either. I think Alabama was a victim of their own success this year. When they got on a roll in February, expectations got higher, then the bottom fell out. This was a not very talented team that overachieved with some ugly scrappy wins.

Can't forget men's golf. We finished 13th in the Southern Highlands, but we're still ranked 4th in the nation.

This team is very top heavy, with Lovelady, Shelton of course, and then Davis Riley.

Really great team this year who could win it all.

Agreed. Hope we can find a consistent perimeter shooter or 2 for next year. Edwards and Norris seemed to be hitting early on, but not so much towards the end of the season...and both Coleman and Hale were very streaky and showed only flashes from the perimeter. I think later in the season, opponents knew that most of our offense was Retin slashing to the basket so they could just pack it in and dare us to hit from the outside...which we didn't most of the time...

It's like I didn't swim for bama, and we're not a top 15 team with NCAA's next week...

Is there a massive impact expected from the new swimming facility that has been promised?

I know that track and field got a boost from the updates to the Sam Bailey Track & Field facility. Dan Waters has a rising program. I think baseball will eventually see the same impact.

I thought the renovation of Foster Auditorium would do wonders for women's basketball. But even with a top notch coach (at least according to her time at Purdue) the progress hasn't shown.

I don't know enough about soccer or volleyball. But rowing seems to be very good.

When the swimming facility is built, basketball has to be next for an upgrade (I have no hopes of a new facility).
