Why does this keep getting repeated. His contract runs through February. Don’t think he’s coming back, but his contract has not expired.
What everyone is saying is that if there were any intention of renewing his contract, it would have happened a long time ago.
A renewed contract wouldn't keep him from pursuing or taking an NFL job but it would signal Alabama's desire to keep him. The lack of a new contract with a month left on the old one says exactly the opposite.
He's gone.

Has he outright fired an assistant at any point in his HC career?
Technically he resigned, but Bo Davis for sure got fired.

Agree he’s gone, but I don’t think his contract status has any bearing. Have any of the other assistant coaches with contracts expiring at the end of this February been publicly extended? That’s not the way Saban does business. People are just latching on to his contract status as Proof of what they (myself included) want to believe.
And some People seem to literally think the contract is expired because it was a 2 year contract and it’s now 2023. All the assistant coach contracts run through the end of February.
But let me reiterate I think he’s gone.

Wasn’t that for recruiting violations, though, rather than not performing up to standard?

And for lying to the big man

Aren't you the guy that wanted to can Oats last year?
I'll bet you're more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

As of this morning it looks like Pruitt has taken a slight lead for DC.

Slight lead over who? If you don’t mind sharing, Boz

I didn't want to can him. I just asked if he was the problem. He's changed since he first came here... Not into just shooting 3 and no defense. That's a great thing!!
And yes, I am more fun than a barrel of monkeys. It's ok to ask questions to generate thought... And that's what I do. You don't have to click on my threads.

Seeing some talk on Twitter and the webs about Jeff Lebby for OC. Not sure how serious it is.

That would be interesting, but they also said he's in the middle of a contract at Oklahoma. He's got a good coaching resume (if you overlook the art briles stuff).

Thanks Boz, any word on the OC search?

Probably more because the other two are a little harder to get to come here.
