What'd he do to hurt it?

Yep that’s right.
That's a tremendous blow. Wow.
Hopefully we can get him back at some point this season, but that really hurts us against Georgia.

Tbf to Pritchett all his reps in camp were probably at RT.
Coach confirmed this in his press conference.
He did say this line practiced together in the spring, but not at all in summer/fall practices.

Yeah hopefully code name is right. If it truly is torn then he either plays injured or season ending surgery

Really hope that you are correct.

Labrum’s don’t heal in 4-6 weeks.

I doubt an MRI has been done yet. Either way this aint a good sign.
Let his back up get more reps this week in practice since he was playing RT all camp

My daughter is on an elite bouldering/climbing team. She fell bouldering from about 12 feet up and tore here labrum and crack the humerus at the head. That was on a Thursday and by Monday was already back on the wall. The doctor at UNC and the ortho both said it was about pain management at that point and would be up to her how soon she returned. They offered her a sling but did not want her in it for more than a week. Said the most important thing is to not let it tighten to affect range of motion.
Yes I understand different sport but if you know anything about bouldering the movement required especially doing dynos can be pretty demanding on the shoulder and areas around it. So depending on the extent of it meaning very severe he may not be out that long.

No insider information but just by listening to DeBoer in the postgame, this sounded like something the medical staff had already made a prognosis and it was mostly about seeing how it goes this week in practice.
My reckon is he doesn't play against USF but will likely play against Wisconsin and definitely play against Georgia.

If Bama has to go with Pritchett the rest of the season, IMO, they're gonna have to either line a TE on his side or have a RB get a chip block on his man. When SEC plays starts, he's going to see much, much better speed rush edge guys than what he saw Saturday night.
Or, as one other poster mentioned, maybe put Booker out there and Geno Vandermark takes his place? I thought Formby looked good on his side.

Yeah, this was my experience too. I separated a shoulder and tore my labrum in HS. Was in a sling for a week but then played the rest of the season and had surgery in the offseason. I was a WR though, so a bit different than being an OL.

Correct, they can tighten it up to get him through the season.
To actually fix it, it is season ending surgery

There are insiders and then there's CodeName1.
Since the day he started posting here, his accuracy rate is 100%.

My daughter did not ever need surgery, so I guess it depends on the severity. She had no issues throughout the season and made it to nationals. The ortho told her it would heal without it
