The 2010 BCS National Championship Game win over Texas when I was a student at Alabama will top anything else I've ever experienced, however I am going to throw another one out there that doesn't get mentioned all that much anymore. The pre-game festivities before the 2010 Alabama-Penn State game saw Bobby Bowden, Joe Paterno, and Nick Saban all walk to midfield, greet each other, and converse with one another during pre-game warm-ups.

Obviously that event has been tarnished somewhat by the Jerry Sandusky stuff that broke a year later, however at the time it was one of the coolest things I had ever experienced in person as a football fan.

2 and 26 will always take the cake. No way Alabama would have made a field goal to tie up the game.

The Clemson game in 2008. That was a statement game, putting the world on notice that Alabama was back. It was also good whipping Georgia in the blackout game three weeks after.

The onside kick in the 2015 championship game against Clemson for me.

Due you the strange events and impossible air travel to get to Phoenix tickets were under 50 bucks out there. I had 2 uppers I had gotten from the ticket office I had paid 450 each for, that I gave away before the game and moved down to lowers for like 100 bucks an hour before kick off.

Sat next to a very loud Clemson lady that basically caused permanent ear damage.. but right after that onside kick she went quiet and kept asking if they were allowed to do that

2nd and 26 and nothing else comes as close. The missed kick to force OT that made me want to throw up followed by Tua taking that sack, I literally dropped to my knees thinking I can't believe we lost this game because our kicker can't hit a 25 yarder straight down the middle and then Tua throws that TD and everyone in my house went insane. Nothing like that.

Mount Cody blocking the FG is really high up on the list.

And Kenyan Drake CAN FLY! That was probably second on the list, was such an incredible play.

Looking back, there’s a lot of seasons you can pin point one play that “allowed” or “illustrates” that season. McElroy hopping on one foot down the sideline to stay in bounds in the ‘09 SEC Championship game, Mark Barron fully extending to break up a pass in the end zone against South Carolina in ‘10, Yeldon scoring the go ahead against LSU in ‘12, onside kick against Clemson in ‘16, 2nd and 26 against UGA, Brooks TD against Auburn last year, 4th and 31 this year. Those are just the ones that come to mind instantly.

Gonna be a hell of a 30 for 30 when it’s all said and done.

While 2nd and 26 is my favorite, I’ll never forget the Sugar bowl vs. Miami. That defense was ridiculous. Loudest place I’ve ever been. Sat surrounded by Miami fans talking monumental chet before the game. Those poor bastards didn’t know what hit them in the end.

Antonio Langham’s pick six to seal the SEC
Championship vs Florida in 92 and the subsequent beat down of Miami in the Sugar Bowl.

Shaun Alexander running roughshod over LSU in 96.

1) 1992 Iron Bowl. Was a student. 100th year of Bama football. My first ever Iron Bowl to attend in person. That whole season was perfection. I will always remember the 4th quarter of that game. As we put the game away, there was a combined sense of relief (fear going into game that Auburn would put it together to ruin our undefeated season) and then celebration .

2) Followed closely by 2009 Iton Bowl. I was at the game in boogville. Similar
To 1992, auburn trying to win their superbowl and upset our season. The pass to win the game was awesome.

3) 2011 Sugar Bowl. I have a lot of LSU friends and spent the week in New Orleans leading up to the game. Had an amazing time,
Capped off by the shutout.

4) Yeldon screen pass. I was sitting adjacent
To the LSU student section. They had shut us down the entire second half.

Honorable mentions: Events that I did t attend.

1) this may sound crazy, but the 2007 win over
Arkansas. Watched at a childhood friends house with his Dad who passed not too long after that season. Lot of friends that live out of
State were there for this game. Was like a family reunion of sorts. It seemed like every close game had gone against us for the past decade. To win a comeback/last second victory like we Did was a sign to me that Bama’s fate was turning. We celebrated as if we had just won a national championship.

2) the past 2 Iron Bowls @ Auburn. Exercising the demons of the Auburn voodoo. Such improbable wins.

All these moments listed here were great but the one that still nearly brings me to tears was the 2015 championship against Clemson when Kenyon Drake ran the kickoff back 95 yards for a touchdown. All the injuries he came back from to still have the speed to do that was incredible.

1. Tua and 26. Guts uga - Nothing can ever beat that ever. Its impossible to top that moment, and there is no play ive watched more times over and over- even during off season. It can work better than having a drink after a long day. Just put the end of that game on and everything gets better.

2A. Mark Ingram Heisman and speech

2B. If we end up winning the title 4th and thirty won - if not it slides down a bit.

3. Rocky Blocks. (There were 2)

4. Georgia wears black to attend their own MF funeral mauling

5. AJ to Coop to break uga in seccg

6. DJ Fluker jumping up down looking at sideline screaming run the damn ball, and then we did and crushed uga in seccg

7. Tua saves Jalen Hurts in natty. Guts uga

8. Hurts saves Tua in SECCG Guts uga

9. Derrick Henry tosses mich state lineman 10 yards- wins Heisman

10. Julio giving three lsu DBs a piggy back ride for ten yards. Julio Jones 5000 yards receiving vs Tenn with broken hand and foot dgaf.

11. Ro McClain grabbing marquise johnson face mask tells him if he ever allows another reception he will kill him. MJ never allows another reception goes to nfl.

12. Every time punt was in the air heading toward Javy Arenas

13. Upshaw: "Touch that thang fo" (four aka Mark Barron)

14. Holding lsu behind 50 yd line in title game.

15. AJ to yeldon screen pass breaks tigers hearts

16. Trent Richardson decleats and absolutely runs a MF over in the open field/flat vs arkansas

17. Watching jameson williams run 28 mph while torching uga "best team ever" in seccg

18. Mark Ingram wildcat TD drive vs SC

19. Eddie Lacy kills monte teo and two DBs get out his way as we steam roll ND

20. Notre Dame pissing pants watching Bama exit tunnel sounding like wild burzerkers before dismantling them.

I could go on for a while here, and would probably rerank a few of these as i kept recalling favorites

My dad was a high school football coach. He was good friends with the guy who ran the local radio station. He gave my dad two last minute tickets to the 1993 Sugar Bowl.

My dad woke me up on 12/31/92 (I was 14 years old) and told me we were going to the Sugar Bowl. I didn’t believe it until he showed me the tickets. The next morning we loaded up on junk food and headed to New Orleans . Spent some time on Bourbon Street, which was an experience for my young eyes, and ran into some people we knew. And, of course, Alabama won big.

Best day my dad and I had together when I was growing up.

The 1992 national championship game is my favorite because I was just married, and my wife, who is from California, was introduced to Alabama football by that game. She has followed Alabama with me ever since. Roll Tide.

***92 Langham INT. I’m an old town creek guy. Went to this game with my dad who is now gone. Will always hold this one up above all others.
