Mac Jones was the best player FOR the Bama punting team by getting us down the field. Hopefully the punter from Troy can Bama to a level of having at least a good punting team.

I'll take 36 yards as long as it has enough hang time on it to cause a fair catch. It's those low line drives and shanks that irritate the piss out of me.

Isn't the #1 sophomore RB at Gulf Shores with Mark Hudspeth? He may be a junior this upcoming season. I think I read that somewhere. He transferred from another high school in Alabama, maybe in northern part of state.

I don't know if recruiting is going on at this point but could be.

Could be.

Also, Saban's contract gives him around 70 hours personal use of the university plane per year. Maybe Miss Terry took some girlfriends to the gulf for a few days?

Why not fly a couple hours longer their house in Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island, FL? Much nicer.

Nothing irritates me more than kickers punting the ball into the end zone. It is often not even close! Do they not know how hard to kick the ball? It is all they do, all season and off season. Put someone back there (like me), that can only punt the ball 30 yards max. Or, just punch a low liner and let it roll for 30 yards. The returner is taught to move away from rollers. You might get lucky and hit one of their guys. It’s a real football pet peeve of mine.

This story is part of an 11-week breakdown BamaOnLine is doing of every game on Alabama’s 2021 football schedule (sorry, Mercer). We begin with the last game on the Crimson Tide’s regular-season slate in the Auburn Tigers and count down to the season-opening foe, Miami...

I'm guessing early- to mid-Sept heat in Tuscaloosa and Gainesville aren't drastically different. Gainesville may win out on humidity that time of year, which is usually dry and dusty on a September dove field in Alabama

Interesting note I caught this AM on Get Up, through 10 seasons Julio is 2nd (12,896 yds) only to Jerry Rice (13,275 yds) in receptions yds.

First, that is awesome for Julio. The man is a true beast. Would have loved seeing him in a recent Bama offense. Hope he lands somewhere competitive for a SB.

But, also, how fricking good was Rice. I mean those #s are incredible for an 80s/90s player. Rice is an all time legend.

Montana to Rice on a hail Mary was unstoppable on Tecmo Bowl for a reason.
