(Posted on 11/12/13 at 11:36 am to Prominentwon) On BOL, it sounds like they are taking 40 kids this year in that war room. they have 22 commits and are in the "running" for... 1 of the 3 (Elam, Lorenzo, Hand), Abu Lamin or Charles Mosley Humphrey, CJ Hampton, and Hootie, Maybe Tony brown or Jalen Tabor LF, Joe Mixon Rashaan Evans, Raekwon M Brian Wallace, Damien Mama yeah, they are stupid as frick

So much fail in that post. Where to begin?
What part of BOL update made you think we were even remotely in it with him at this point? The post on BOL basically said that with him choosing to use his last OV with TN, the ship has sailed on that one.
Update said Bama gained ground but ultimately they feel he will choose Michigan. What is so homer about that?
Where was that? Did we read the same update?
If you want to insult BOL and Bama, fine. But please use accurate information when you do so. TIA

Saban won't be there forever. And his successor will struggle to fill his legendary shoes just like Zook did at Florida, Solich did at Nebraska, etc. If he doesn't leave this year to take the Texas job, he will probably be retiring in the near future.
I disagree. Les Miles walked in after CNS left LSU and didn't miss a beat...yet..Alabama is going to tank? Really? I doubt it.
The difference is that Alabama has a historic program that Nebraska and Florida didn't have and why those 2 fell off.

You put in card info or whatever and choose free trial and then cancel before they charge it

Apparently Hootie Jones will be taking an OV to Alabama AFTER he announces on the 25th.

I don't understand how LSU fans are attempting to point out how we won't be on top forever as if they get to be on top forever.
They don't.
The same way we'll one day lose steam, they are currently losing steam right now. Difference is we have a history of coming back, while they don't.

I saw that. Not sure why an LSU commit would OV to Bama a couple of weeks after committing to LSU. Sounds positive for us. Also BOL said that a source told them a month ago the outcome of the game could help make the decision easier for him.

Nebraska didn't have a historic program? That's some stupid shite.

I guess they see their only hope is for us to drop off the edge of the earth rather than get busy trying to fix things themselves.
I still laugh every time someone talks about Bama dropping off after AJ leaves when for the last 2 or 3 years most of those same people have been talking about AJ not being that good (anyone could do it with what he has around him).
When a whiner tries to explain away whatever the issue is, any excuse they can think of at the moment will do.

Alabama is sitting in the middle of the richest talent base in the nation. Nebraska almost couldn't be further from talent if it tried. Unless Nebraska is willing to bring in thugs and marginal students like Tom Osborne did in the 90smiddle (all while maintaining that saintly image) Nebraska has no shot at ever sniffing glory again.

I think his point was Nebraska has had some real lows that major historic programs haven't had.
From 1936 ( A.P. poll ) to 1961 a 26 year period Nnebraska was 92nd in the U.S. with a 103-136-8 record.
Nebraska in reality is a 2 trick pony , Delany & Osborne.
Our recruiting reaches from coast to coast.

They actually have more wins than Bama, though their major success started in the 60s, with Devaney (and continued by Osborne, of course.) The separation between the two programs in terms of history is slight but very much in Bama's favor. The main problem, as somebody alluded to above, is that Nebraska can't dominate nationally on its local recruiting base anymore. Gone are the days when they could load up on 150 grass-fed farmboys on the sidelines and throw all that mass at their opponents. Now they're competing against teams that recruit both fertile local grounds and the best the rest of the country has to offer.

What hurt Nebraska the most is when they couldn't accept partial qualifiers any more. They made a living off finding guys from Florida and other states that couldn't qualify, bring them in, they sit for the mandated time, and then boom, take the field for the Huskers.
Most conferences don't allow that any more. Texas led the charge to get rid of partial qualifiers in the Big 12, and Nebraska has struggled since.

Alabama has officially taken over as the leader for Matt Elam's Crystal Ball Projections, 54% to 46%.
Boom.
Boom.

And Nebraska can't pump those kids full of roids anymore, and aren't the only program investing into big facilities.
