One of the BOL guys the other day stated that BAMA looked to be in a good position for him during a Q & A thread.

Are we flipping C.J. Hampton? I keep seeing crystal ball predictions to Bama even though he commited to Ole Miss in June of last year.

There are varying reports

Sme are pretty confident that Bama has a shot and I've seen where OM 247 guys still feel he is solid

He is the one who supposedly gave Big Cam his Bama visor at the Opening

In other words, wouldn't be surprised either way

As the Mississippi guy on this board(with TS) I will say Hampton will be ours if we like him better than our other S options(I do). Meridian is a Bama town.

Anyone see the twitter posts on the secrb by CRob. Hope he is just trolling but it didn't look good for Bama.

Y, Bowden and the new staff has done a great job with their positioning to the recruits telling them basically that this season the roster is so bad that is a wash and inviting kids to come on OVs during bigger bball game weekends after the football season is over, basically selling this us why we need you

That being said a couple people in the know in sites etc seem to like Bama's chances but his recruitment is far from over

Now we know why Bama is recruiting some many OL in this class.

I was thinking the same thing after the game. I don't care how many o-line we take. I hated watching that shite yesterday.

Stephen Roberts and SDH visited Auburn for their game Saturday. Anyone worried that either of these would flip?

Roberts is a possibility I guess SDH is too, would be surprised if he did though

I think now we are finally feeling the complete lack of interest Pendry had in recruiting/evaluating OL toward the end of his tenure and the fact Stoutland wasn't allowed off campus to recruit.

It's too early IMO to make a determination like that after 1 game. In 2010, the OL wasn't great and a lot of fans were saying the problem was that Warmack just wasn't good enough. I will say that we missed on an unusual number of OT targets the last 2 cycles and the JUCO fix (Brown) hasn't worked out.

THIS!! Shep struggled mightily at RT...He didn't look at all like a RT looked more like a G and up to this point we have been able to use a rotation well enough that guys aren't so inexperienced. That is very evident so far this year, the group needed what they got Sat Night to see plenty of the horrible blocking film and correct the mistakes.

That is why I was excited about the formation with Arie at RT...I don't care how bad he might've looked in pass pro, remember how bad Fluke was when he started? He got better and was always a road grading blocker in the run game, to me that's also Arie

Staff has 2 weeks to put them through the gauntlet and hopefully we will see Shep slide inside and Arie move back outside

Agree with this.

I think we can see now (and from what we have heard from Saban and Tuscaloosa from the scrimmages) that the OL will not be a strength (unlike last year) but I don't want to jump the gun after one game and say they will be a debilitating weakness.

Eta: meaning i think they can develop/gel enough to be serviceable.

Seeing our ST's perform on that level really excites me, they looked dominate at every phase. It's easy to say Logan Thomas is horrible, but the D looked very good, those guys are gonna force allot of turnovers.

The Oline is gonna have to step up, but I think people are overreacting
