Never?

how much contact can an AD have with a recruit? are they limited under the same rules as a coach would be?
I think contact is unlimited when he is on campus. Not sure about other times.

The UA CoE doing work.
Makes me proud.

We've landed the #2 recruit on several occasions, but not a #1 in the Rivals/Scout/247Sports era. Brodie Croyle was #1 on some lists in 2001, but that pre-dated most of the recruiting sites by a couple of years.

Andre Smith was one of the highest Bama has gotten.
Looking at some of the lists, only 2 #1 prospects have won NCs; Vince Young in 2001(Rivals) and Percy Harvin in 2006(Rivals).

Hand may have changed interests, but Zo Carter is still looking to major in engineering. He's taking a trip down to FSU to see their program and meet Coach Sunseri.
This was a Warchant video, but Bama wasn't mentioned in it. Not even when asked who is recruiting him the hardest.

This is becoming a theme of late, with Carter...

I'm glad our CoE is getting some top prospects interested, but an engineering curriculum is no joke. Add football's time requirements and it will be tough.

This. I know Hand is a bright kid, but engineering is very time consuming. Excelling at that while playing football at a high level would be extremely hard. Not that I don't think he can pull it off or shouldn't try, but saying thats your plan after your junior year of HS and going through with it are different.

I had no time for even a social life going through the Civil program at Alabama. I don't know how someone could do football with it.

Hand wants to study Sports Management/Marketing now instead of engineering

Alabama has one of the best marketing programs in the country.

Not sports marketing though

That's not what he listed above, unless he actually meant that instead.

[Hand] said the reason Virginia Tech is out is because of academics … at Michigan, when he came on the visit, he said he was blown away by his interaction with the sports marketing professor. He raved about it, went on and on about it… and he said it again in an interview I just did with him. He said it was the best academic presentation he's been around, said it made a profound impact on him.

I actually meant the poster, but regardless it seems Alabama does have a sports management program. That is news to me.
