Would be awesome, but I just don't see it happening.
Here's to hoping you're right and i'm wrong.

Silent lock like the K in that kid's name who signed with OM?

That was a silent "N", I think.

I'm glad to hear this. I really want him to be in this class.

-Alabama is the clear team to beat for Cornwell and the offensive staff is going to Oklahoma to watch him throw during the Spring evaluation period
This makes me believe he will have the go-ahead to pick Alabama on June 1.

I really thought we would make more head-way in Virginia this year. Looks like Hand will go to VT and Brown to UVa. I still think Chesapeake's coach has it in for Alabama, after the whole Phillip Sims thing.

*Ronnie Clark is considered a top 2 prospect instate by several staff members(#1 being Humphrey)
While I likened him to Robert Lester, it does surprise me he would be that high.
quote:
Staff wanted Charles Mosley to commit, yet he held off. They want him back at camp, and see him more as an OL prospect right now.
This one is surprising to me. I thought if would be the other way around. The staff wanting him to get in camp and show the willingness to lose weight. I thought for sure if they pressed a commit, he would jump at it.

* Davon Godchaux, who lists Bama as one of his top schools, needs to camp June 15th for an offer.
Reminds me of Jeff Pagan.

Only problem with signing Cornwell (and its a great one to have) is that he pushes a QB or 2 out the door. He is the best QB that has come out in at least the last 3 or 4 yrs

Good. Sign him and then we can get rid of McLeod

Cornwell is really, really good but let's hold off on crowning him as the best to come out in the last 3-4 years. I'm not saying he won't be, but he hasn't even hit the camp circuit or played his Senior year yet.
And I'm Cornwell's biggest fan.

we have too many qb's already so if a couple are pushed out by cornwell, then that may not be so bad....

We should send this episode of E:60 to every recruit in the country.

Along with Round 1 draft coverage

We already should expect the logjam at QB to cost us a couple of QBs currently on the roster over the next year-and-a-half.

This weekend will be a info-mercial for Alabama football.

Back to what Bone had to say regarding Charles Mosley, why in the world would our staff be more interested in him at OG when we lead for Jordan Sims and Roderick Taylor? We also have Bradley Bozeman already committed.
NG is an area of weakness for us at the moment and we are looking at one of the top NGs to come out in the past few years as a Guard?

I think I read where Rod Taylor recently said he's probably staying in state (MS)
Posted on 4/23/13 at 8:54 pm to sarc
My understanding is that he does not want to stay in MS. Having said that, two of his teammates are going to Ole Miss. He may join them or he may not.
Jackson is a different animal. The last great player from Callaway, Derrick Odum, went to LSU. We got one of the best high school basketball players to come out of Jackson in the last 15 years in Mo Williams. Hell, the USA Today High School Basketball Player of the Year in 1993, Jerod Ward (from my high school
), went to Michigan.
My point is that Jackson area schools are not pipelines to the MS universities like South Panola.

I wouldn't hold Mosley that high, Josh Frazier is probably the best pure NG this cycle. Mosley didn't look at that great at Rivals' Hoover.
From the start he's been recruited as both, that what he came to camp as initially. Wouldn't really take it as a surprise that a NG prospect could be an OL as well. A quick first step/explosion works well for either position.
Elam is still out there as well, and the aformentioned Frazier. They probably try to take 2, with one being a "jumbo athlete".

I went back and checked and a mod on one site did say that Taylor stated that he didn't think he would leave the state. That doesn't really jive with what he said in interviews at the Hoover camp around that same time though. Think there may have been a mix up. Looks like a Bama-Ole Miss battle with Bama hopefully still in front

It's rare to find an elite NG straight out of high school. This class has 3-4 (Mosley, Frazier, Elam, Bijhon Jackson) that could make that leap. I just think we have our sights on so many good OGs, why not recruit a player who is a Top 150 player at NG as a NG?
