I said this would happen for weeks and got tons of insults and downvotes for my effort.

I have no sympathy for Florida State at all. They were offered to join the SEC in 1992 and Bowden openly said they didn't want to do it because the conference is too difficult. This is karmic and it is karmic that they have this media rights deal keeping them stuck in a conference that is closer to the Sun Belt than it is to the SEC.

FSU has the best defense in the country but the offense is pretty bad even with Rodemaker as the QB. IMO, right now, they're eerily similar to Iowa. Great defense but a very pedestrian offense. It sucks for them but the committee openly said before that if a team is missing an important player or players that they'd take that into consideration.

I knew Bama would get in all along I just didn't know who it would be over...I was confident until FSU beat Louisville and Texas blew out Ok St. Then I got a little nervous.
If the job was to get the 4 best in they still failed because UGA is left out. I'm totally ok with it of course but it's the truth.
It's always been this...the 4 best teams that you can most easily justify. They did that.

Here’s what a lot of people can’t seem to grasp: the playoff isn’t a reward. Getting into the playoff isn’t supposed to be recognition for a good season. It’s a tournament meant to find one true national champion. FSU wasn’t going to be competitive and win it all.

This situation has really shown where the morons reside.
FSU is not one of the best 4 teams. "Deserving" has nothing to do with it. It's not a reward for a great season. It's not a bouquet you get for playing well in September. It doesn't matter that your QB is really sad. None of that matters. The goal of the process is to choose the top 4 teams. No one that thinks FSU is a top 4 team is to be taken seriously. They are either lying or stupid. Those are the options. Most are lying. They would not bet their life savings on FSU being able to beat anybody in the top 7.
FSU has a very good defense and without Jordan Travis they have an offense on par with Iowa or Vanderblit. That's not good enough to be considered a top 4 team.
The arguments are either that FSU is still one of the 4 team teams NOW or that they should get in because they have a zero next to their record. The first argumment is laughable and the second one is stupid.
I have lost all patience and respect for people who claim FSU got screwed. Does it suck for them? Absolutely. Does that make it the wrong decision? No.

As I’ve said in tRant, everyone isn’t pissed that FSU got jumped. They’re pissed it was by Bama. If UGA won out, Texas still would have jumped FSU, and outside of TAM and OU, no one would have given a shite.

Yeah, saying “FSU deserved or earned it” is such a shallow but easy take to make. Kind of like “the players should be paid” or “Brandon Milller should be suspended.” It sounds virtuous and guarantees no blowback because most casual fans don’t see beyond the surface of the story. Yet when you lay out the facts, it’s a case of a logic vs. emotion.
