Stud compared to this year. He isn’t a great player but he does what is asked of him. We aren’t asking him to be Anthony Davis and carry us to a National Title

I'll take a meltdown if it helps Herb get healthy.
If your getting antsy, remember our last game. 115 used to be the high end of what you'd see for NBA scores.

Yea, I get why he plays and don't have an issue with it. Oats has pretty honestly talked about how he brings some stuff to the table that we don't get elsewhere. I think his issue will be if we other guys develop that same sort of ability plus efficiency abilities. Gary and KAH definitely have the ability to do that next season.
This will definitely be a big offseason for Rojas in terms of finding ways to be more efficient.

SEC Box Plus/Minus Ratings vs Top 100 (min 20% mins played) (121 total players)
1. Jordan Bruner (+13.4)
4. Herbert Jones (+8.2)
6. John Petty Jr (+7.9)
9. Alex Reese (+7.2)
16. Keon Ellis (+5.9)
40. Jaden Shackelford (+4.2)
45. Joshua Primo (+3.8)
63. Jahvon Quinerly (+2.5)
113. James Rojas (-3.1)
Damn, this couldn't be more telling. Though there are a couple surprises.
At first glance, Primo is lower than I'd expect. But until Georgia, he'd basically disappeared for several games. But he started to become a major focus for other team's defense. He played more of a bench role against Georgia, and hopefully builds off of it. He's young, even by freshmen standards. So slumps are to be expected.
Quin and Shack are about where I expected. Shack is great at getting by his defender. He just needs to think ahead before getting into the lane. Know you outs, be aware of who's switching for a double team, and having an exit if they clog the lane. Because his shot selection can become absurd.
Quin has definite talen and I see the flashes that made him av5 star. But seems to play much better off the ball. He's much better off playing the 2 rather then trying to create his own shots.
And damn, I miss Brunner.

Yep, my post from Pg. 717. I still don't think people realize how valuable Bruner was to our team. Herb is our SEC POTY and All-American candidate, and rightfully so. And there is no more dangerous player in the country than John Petty when he is hot.
But all the advanced metrics point to Bruner being our most "valuable" player.
I don't think we lose to either Missouri or Oklahoma without him. He was worth 5 points (@OU) and 3 points (@MIZ), easily.

Honestly I think the fact that we have continued winning without Bruner should be a much bigger deal than it is, but because you have to look at more advanced metrics to make the argument for how valuable he is there hasn't been a ton of media discussion about it the way there would be if Baylor lost Butler or Michigan lost Livers.

Hands in our f*cking pockets holding our d*cks. Ridiculous. Oats needs to be in the Top 10. Hes gone now when a better offer comes, and it will.

Fingers crossed this turns out a ton better than our other extensions of coaches after their 2nd year. I think we are all confident it will for a multitude of reasons: He’s actually committed to a style of play, he runs that style of play extremely well as evidenced by all of our metrics, he recruits to fit that style of play, and barring a collapse, we will win the SEC which we haven’t done in 96 years.
Glad to have Oats here for the long term
