Stats are deceiving anyways. Giddens didn’t even play in 2017. You guys watch, Rojas will have a healthy offseason and will be a stud next year. (Not as much of a stud as Tchikou though)

We don’t beat Furman, Florida, or South Carolina without him

Yep. Hell nobody is saying he is All Sec, he doesn’t even start. But his minutes serve a purpose IMO

He played in 34 games and started 18 of them in 2017.

That would great and as I said earlier, I think he's capable of being a better player than he has shown this season. But that doesn't change the fact that he by far our least efficient player (besides walkons).

I think you guys should stop doing contortionist acts to try to pretend Rojas is in any way good. Other than a play here and there that are far out-weighed by his negatives, he's been abysmal. I think there was one game, where he basically had zero stats, and I thought it was the best game he'd had in weeks, just because he didn't cost us a lot. I appreciate his effort, but that doesn't mean he's helping us. Gary was getting ready to take all his minutes before the injury.

His BPM is -1.3, so I guess we just disagree on what serviceable minutes are.

We really need to play a game mainly so we will all stop melting down.

Oats seem to think he serves a purpose or has potential to

We don’t need much offensively from him right now. He can bang down low with bigs and that serves a purpose . Like I said , being 6’9 with a wide body serves a purpose

He’s 6’7 on a good day. Has some terrible defensive metrics too...

Obviously, but that doesn't have anything to do with what we were talking about. Oats is the HC, an efficiency metric wizard and a math scholar. He is more aware of the numbers than anyone in this thread. But it doesn't take a genius to look at the data and see that Rojas is our most inefficient guy in the rotation. That was my whole point along with stating that I am surprised he played this poorly so far and that I expect him to better in the future.

I haven’t said he was anywhere near our most efficient / best player ... just said he serves a purpose and there is more to basketball roles than computer models

Would be nice for Herb and GBM to have great games against Vandy and Auburn to end their careers in Coleman.

There seems to be a breakdown in communication between us, so i'll just leave it at that. No point in carrying on for multiple pages.

100% agree there. Not a fan of using all these metrics to determine value.

However, you don’t need a computer to see that Rojas is not impacting in a positive manner. He needs to take on a Chris Hines type persona of get rebounds and find others to shoot, and then occasionally hit a shot when wide open or on a put back. He is a turnover machine right now and he seems to be too confident in his offensive game.

If he is useless why does Oats compliment him after almost every game in his press conference?

Do you know more about the team than Oats?

I've got good news for you

Lol. Got busy and just saw this. I went to my ESPN app, and was wondering why the hell the score wasn't listed first thing.

I can't help but laugh at the fact that we finally have a game cancelled, and it's not because of Covid. Honestly, frick this game. The Aggies do nothing to help our sos, winning will provide no benefit, and losing would frick up our net. I'm glad to let our guys have an extended rest.
