Today was our #3 worst offensive efficiency game of the year. Kentucky was the #5 worst. 1, 2 and 4 were Stanford, Clemson and WKU.

So, not great.

I almost turned it off when Reese almost missed a wide open breakaway by mistiming his jump.

I did turn it off when Herb got called for a foul when the guy bloodied his nose.

I don't know if it's the cause, but I'm convincing myself Bruner's absence has aided that strategy. I wouldn't call him an elite finisher at the rim for a big guy, but he gives the driver another option if the kick out 3 isn't there. Rojas, Gary, or Reese certainly aren't that option down low, and Herb just doesn't have the big body to do it either.

Oh for sure. Bruner has always been our most important player for us to have healthy. Reese has turned into a solid big for us to have, but Bruner just does so much more for us. He can knockdown the open 3. He’s easily our best defensive big. He knows where to locate for dump-offs and can finish in traffic. He doesn’t force the issue and takes what he’s given. Most importantly he’s a great passer and finds the open man which is huge for our offense.

A lot of people are overreacting to a loss to a top 10 team. Shack isn't terrible, Quinerly isn't terrible. We have won a lot of games in a row with both of those guys playing great.

People have off games and get in slumps. We will be fine.

That call was outrageous. Something that egregious should absolutely be reviewable.

Bruner lets us play inside out without having to drive into the lane. Having Reese do it takes away most of the value he has on offense and the coaches obviously don't trust Gary or KAH yet. I think we will continue to struggle badly on offense until he's back, which may very well be the rest of the season based on Oats' most recent comments.

The refs made it difficult. But we had every opportunity to win

Eh, Oklahoma isn't a top 10 team. And they definitely aren't with those 2 out. Top 20-25 team per all the metrics.

Some are melting but most of us are just discussing the issues. Shack isn't terrible, but he's bad at the rim. I mean right now Quinnerly is terrible, not sure how else to put it.

We are in a rough patch but have still won 2/3 and had a shot today. Need to win Wednesday

I mean there’s a middle ground here. I’m not sure they’re a top ten team without their best player and another solid contributor. Hell, they weren’t a top ten team with those guys.

We’ve also just struggled a bit since the LSU game.

But they’re a good team and it’s not a bad loss.

As noted by Robot earlier, this isn't like losing at home to Vanderbilt or something. Not even close.

If our collapse is grinding out wins vs average teams and close road losses to Top 20 teams then we're in a good place.

I'll be disappointed if Oats doesn't get himself fined over that one or Herb being called for a moving screen while he still had the fricking ball in his hands.

Agreed. It's not a bad loss just a frustrating one. We've seen a offensive slide the last three games which is partly from injuries but also performance inconsistency.

That call on Herb made absolutely no sense with the sound muted. I couldn’t even figure out what they called him for - I didn’t know until literally right now that it was for a “moving screen”.

But my commitment to not hearing Dan Dakich is pretty strong.

No doubt. We should have won the game. Some of the calls on Herb were still completely outrageous and I'd donate to help pay the fine if Oats complained about them publicly.
