I’m late but man what a finish from our guys today. Had an off game but they didn’t fold. This team is the real deal.

quote:Mild reasonable??? I'm fine with that, reasonably stated. This board is not worse than most others I've visited. They are genuine fans, but some who don't comment at other times, visit and make fools of themselves IMO. Just venting offering no real insight.
There is a small subset of Alabama fans, a lot of them on Reddit for whatever reason, who believe that you are a trashy Gump if you offer even mild, reasonable criticism of a team or player.
Has anyone ever gone back through the game thread?
If it is like sitting around watching a game with other fans, who wants to listen to constant griping and whining like a bunch of 10 year old girls? Fans are supposed to be for their team, not blasting every mistake they make, rarely talking about the good plays. Thankfully, fans at the games don't usually do this.
The team lead almost the entire game and the whining never stopped until a win was in sight - then some still wouldn't let them off of the hook. If I'm in a scene like that, I want to leave or at least let them know that they are unpleasant company.
And most fans really don't know what they are looking at in football or basketball.

Levi Randolph
I don't agree with this at all. I can vividly remember a wide open 3 from the corner hit the side of the backboard. Randolph was hard nosed but not a shooter by any means. Give me Sexton, James Robinson, Robert Horry, Mo Williams and my one outside of the obvious of Rod Grizzard.

Do any of y’all feel like Nate is just flat out lying when he says he took twitter off his phone? I kind of do

Then we also have a lot of fans who said Oats should be fired last year and are the reason Oats daughter had to defend him on Twitter. Oats deleted twitter off his phone, and made a comment about fans attacking him on twitter last year as the reason why
You really want to compare people sending nasty messages to a coach on social media to people griping about how clunky our offense was last night?

Levi was a good shooter outside of his freshman year. And if you think he was a bad shooter, I have no idea why you think Rod Grizzard of all people would be a good fit for this team. He was certainly a willing shooter, but that's about it.

Not sure why you remember that one shot so vividly, but Levi was a solid 3P shooter at Alabama. He would've awesome in an Oats offense.

Alabama took 16 (!) first-half 3s against Kentucky. Then took only four 3s the entire second half. Wild to see a team make such a drastic halftime adjustment like that (and still win)

Kentucky took so many bad shots. I honestly have no idea why Cal doesn't have Dontaie Allen playing 33 minutes a night though. He is literally the only player on that entire roster who you have to worry about beyond 10 feet from the basket.

We completely got away from our offensive identity in the 2nd half

Then leave I guess? I mean I don't know what else to say, really.
You never addressed the response to your last "let them off the hook" response in which I noted that Nate Oats himself had the same postgame reaction about our offense that people here had. Does Nate Oats need a lecture about needing to let us off the hook? Because his comments on certain aspects of our performance was as harsh or harsher than anything here. Do you need to let him know you don't appreciate his negativity?

I think Kentucky’s defense had a lot to do with that. Not sure if getting to the FT line was the stated goal of the 2nd half, but it was the difference in the game. I’m not sure we win that game sticking with our normal offense.

We made 20 baskets for the entire game. Your shot chart looks even less with just 6 baskets in the 2nd half. I guess some overlap. But still amazing to go from a Baton Rouge night when seemingly every shot goes in to this.
Kentucky did play a troubling defense and it showed.

Quinerly has got to get back to what he was starting to become pre Covid. His Offensive Rating the last 2 games are 80 and 66...that ain’t good enough.

I don’t want to talk about the labor pains. Just show me the baby. As long as they win that’s all that matters. No matter how ugly. It’s basketball, they gonna have games where they struggle.
Ok... everybody can go back to raising hell now.

I'd agree, until I read the Tiger Rants Scoreboard during an LSU football game

Whew, only making six buckets in a half and still beating a talented team like Kentucky.
