We have an inside game - it’s just not a post game. Our inside game is getting to the basket.
If you want a post game, that’s not happening. And it shouldn’t happen -it would be woefully inefficient given our strengths.
But I think there is some truth to the idea that we relied on the 3 a bit too much in some games last year (although not all of them). We do need to remember to keep attacking the basket, alongside shooting open 3s.

If teams try to guard the perimeter too hard, we will feed Bruner and Rojas until they stop.

We are going to need Reese's big body and we know he can shoot. He's slower than me but he has a role on this team.
He drives me crazy too but he'll contribute.

Well, this is about like asking whether Mike Leach is gonna have a tight end on the field and run it 30 times a game sometimes against a bad run defense.
Very poor analogy, George. If you know a team does only one thing good, what do you focus on stopping? If a team does more than one thing well, you can't focus on just one thing. I love that we are developing three point shooters. I don't like that we can't drive and dish for a dunk or grab rebounds. Rebounding will be the key in big games.

I love Herb, but he has to be the worst finisher in the history of seven foot wingspans.

I mean it's not. You can agree or disagree with it, but we're gonna play the way we play all the time. Exactly like Leach does in football.
We ran this system last year when we were not set up for it with shooters or depth. But it's his system, and it's the entire structure of the program. It's what we do, and it's what we'll do every night.
There will never be a night where we come out and pound the post or drain clock and shrink the game. Ever.

I’m not totally ready to give up on Reese either. He needs to hit open shots, rebound, and get in the way on defense. That’s about it. I have my doubts that he can do the latter two, but I’m still holding out hope.
We could use some size as Rojas is a different player than I think most of us anticipated him being. He’s much more skilled and effective on offense than I thought he’d be, but he’s smaller than I expected (I suspect he’s barely 6’6), and maybe not as much of a defender as we might have hoped.
Small sample size though, and he did pull down 7 rebounds.
Rojas is basically the mid-major guy with a quirky offensive game that always kills us. We now have that guy.

Good comparison there. That is kind of his game. Couldn't put my finger on it.

Good call. That's exactly what he is. Nothing about him makes much sense, but it seems to work.

So live or die by the three is our philosophy this year?
Pretty much. Did you watch a single basketball game we played last season?

Yep, Rojas is basically a Charles Barkley type of player (build wise, not saying he is talent wise), 6'7" but thick and strong, who can play the 4 spot, but just isn't tall enough to man the 5 spot. Losing Alex T. has ensured that Reese will get more minutes than he probably would have.

Pretty much. He's like that old guy at the rec center.

What I like
- Quinerly is everything a former 5-star should be. I think he’s better than Kira.
- Herb now has 2 hands, he’s fantastic, but he should never shoot again.
- James Rojas is TOUGH
What I didn’t like
- Alex “I like boys now” Reese and his sissy rainbow/boy band haircut. He’s the worst player in college basketball.
Random thoughts
- I wish so badly Collin Sexton could have played at Bama with a team like this surrounding him. When Sexton was here, he was surrounded by trash.
- Joshua Primo showed glimpses, but he’s not getting drafted this year folks.
- Jaden Shackelford will NOT be coming off the bench.
- The days of the Avery jrs, Galins, Jimmie Taylor’s, Dazons, & Ar’Mond Davis’s corroding this roster are over.
- I’d pay my life savings for Tchikou to be well & keep Reese off the court.

I don't want to jinx it, but.. only 10 turnovers. In the game. Not each half.

So Rojas isn’t a typical 5, but I bet he could man it better than Reese.

Is that even necessary?

3's just weren't falling. We didn't play well, but we still hit 80.

When Reese walked out, the ladies were expecting Freddie Prinze Jr, but he came out looking like Freddie Kreueger.
