You guys keep holding out hope on Reese if you want. I saw the same ineffective, lackadaisical player tonight I saw at the end of last year. Basically Reese is Herb without the hustle. Alex has a little better 3 stroke than Herb but that’s about all. Herb is not quite as ineffective on offense as Daniel Giddens was but Herb makes up for it big time on defense, on the boards, in hustle, effort, leadership, and glue. I’ll take 1 of him over 5 Alex Reese’s every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I hope I have to eat these words; I love crow, but I say Alex Reese will make very little contribution to the success of this team.

I loved the hustle this team showed tonight. They were still diving for loose balls up > 20 points with a minute left. They were active on D. We might not have come down with very many rebounds, but it wasn't because of a lack of effort.

The "new" guys looked hungry. Quinerly, Rojas, Bruner, Primo, & Ellis came out with maximum effort. Throw in that hunger with the effort that Herb, Shackelford, and Petty give most nights, and this could an a very exciting team.

Very poor analogy, George. If you know a team does only one thing good, what do you focus on stopping? If a team does more than one thing well, you can't focus on just one thing. I love that we are developing three point shooters. I don't like that we can't drive and dish for a dunk or grab rebounds. Rebounding will be the key in big games.

It seems like you did not follow or watch a single game last season and know nothing about Nate Oats. I would recommend researching his philosophy and career to decide if this is a team that you are interested in following. Because right now I feel like you are going to hate what we do and want us to turn into a 1980's basketball team.

I don't dislike Reese like a lot of you, but I also have never expected him to be more than a role player. I think he loves the team, and what looks like lack of effort is just lack of ability. I kind of wish we'd stop letting him dribble the ball or try to catch it in traffic.

We got some shite to clean up before then. But our effort will keep us in every game

I don't expect us to pound the paint and play inside all game. But playing smaller schools should be the testing grounds for when you play teams that can shut down your outside game. I'm not complaining about upbeat, fast break games. I just don't want a team with good zone defenses to shut us down because we rely so much on the 3 pointer.

Alex “I like boys now” Reese and his sissy rainbow/boy band haircut.

This is lame and I hope it ends here.

Joshua Primo showed glimpses, but he’s not getting drafted this year folks.

He's projected to be a top 20 pick and you've seen him play once (his first ever collegiate game). Probably a little early to call it.

frick you. I've watched Bama games going back to Robert Horry days. They had inside AND outside game strategies. If one wasn't working, they could adjust. You get one dimensional, teams can shut that down. I only want THIS team to have a backup plan. That's it.

I want to agree with this.

This is an absolute must imo. Not doing him or ourselves any favors otherwise.

I’ll type whatever I’d like too, since it is a free country. Thanks for your opinion though.

Did we not score 50+ points in the paint after being cold from 3. I mean, that’s what you wanted.

Samford scores 175 against a D2 team and they are hyping that BuckyBall up. So cringe

Calm down Francis. Saying Oats system is live or die by the 3 is an oversimplification. Its more about pace and limiting shots to high reward, 3 pointers, and high percentage, layups.

I get what you are saying, but I would argue that you should definitely play your first game of the season exactly how you will play every other game of the season.

I think you have a philosophical difference from our coach which will leave you displeased more times than not.

I really am optimistic of Primo. He has a very smooth game and I’m feeling pretty good about our chances to keep him for his sophomore season. Keon Ellis has got to be more aggressive on offense but his lateral quickness on defense is the best on the team and he has solid playmaking offensively and can handle the ball with control much better than Herb. I think we’re gonna be pretty damn good
