Good 3PT teams don’t stop shooting when they have an off night.

If we have a normal shooting night we win that 101 to 59.

I’ll catch hell for this, but I think he is a better all around point guard than Kira.

We'll see how good we are on Monday.

Wonder what the rotations will look like in Asheville.

Probably would have won 20+ games with him as our 3rd guard instead of Bolden.

It's smart to shoot 3s against a weaker opponent b/c you have nothing to lose. Against better competition, you'll see more variety.

I think Kira definitely has some 2 guard in him. The ability to play both and let Kira slide off the ball would have been lethal. Trying to stay in front of both those guys.....good luck.

Did you have this same gripe last season or when we hired Nate Oats?

I think Oats will be a very good coach at Alabama. I just think an inside game will cause problems for teams that can shutdown outside shooting. If we focus on outside shooting, teams will shut that down.

Exactly. The NCAA had no reason to deny him. They were handing out waivers left and right

Well, this is about like asking whether Mike Leach is gonna have a tight end on the field and run it 30 times a game sometimes against a bad run defense.

If you want that them you got the wrong coach. It just isn't gonna happen. It's not part of the coaches system and never will be.

I’m just grateful that we have a coach with a system, and knows how to recruit for his system. It’s refreshing

It's all I wanted for 20 years, to be honest.

We don't focus on outside shooting. We focus on spacing. Good spacing naturally produces open looks from outside, so we take those shots.

He seems to have a plan and direction of where he wants us to go. I'm not sure any of the last 3-4 coaches did. That excites me more than anything. A PLAN!

Gottfried? shiiiiit. UCLA high/low my arse.

Thoughts:

- JQ is going to be a stud
- Herb is going to be able to shoot (probably at a better clip than his layup percentage)
- Shackelford has added an inside game. He’s a bit wild at times, but he’s clearly worked on his finishing. Could be a 20 ppg guy when his shot starts to fall
- Keon Ellis is going to be huge. Didn’t pull a lot, but he’s crazy good defensively and showed some playmaking that I wasn’t aware he had
- The biggest takeaway was this team is going to be good defensively. I know the 3s didn’t fall as well as many layups, but we know that won’t be a problem. The fact they came in and were dominant defensively is a very encouraging sign

Amen, good thoughts Bird.

JQ being legit, the depth and athleticism and the defensive ability were my takeaways.
