But it’s predicated on long-term trends and metrics. If you’re shooting 25% from 3 at some point it’ll even out. So you don’t stop doing what statistics say you should keep doing.

You're going to have to help me on this one. Have our numbers been even? I can't recall. Seems like we are always miserable.

I guess I am measuring us against January.

We don't win this game without the 2 big 3 point shots from Ellis and Reese.

And the bulk of our points in the 2nd half probably came from shots around the rim. I haven't looked at the box score, but it seems like we did adjust our offense in the 2nd half and drove the ball more.

We did a great job of subtly adjusting in the 2nd half on offense.

And Ellis is a fvckin DUDE

Reese hit a 3? How did I miss that one?

Why make Long twos when you can try a 3 with just a couple of feet back. At this stage it is what it is. We got to dance with what brought us here. But we got to get hot from 3 and stay hot for the duration of the NCAA tourney. Not sure we have the consistent offensive talent to do that.

His ability to get to the rim and finish has become next level

You're more likely to get 33% by having the right guy taking those shots. Jones just had a bad day...he's over 44% for the year.

Reese is 25% for the year.

Reese isn't one of them. His last attempt with 15 seconds on the shot clock was absolutely horrible basketball IQ.

I love Oats's philosophy. I just don't think Reese is one of the guys that should be taking that many threes. Oats is a disciple of the analytics. Well, the analytics on Reese taking threes is pretty firmly established.

I mean we really don't. We just beat a Sweet 16 level team not shooting well.

If we don't shoot well, we'll have to grind it out and it'll be harder. If we shoot well, we can win the National Championship.

If we keep playing defense at the level we are playing it we can shoot poorly and still have a chance against everyone but 6-7 teams.

Yep, and it was probably the biggest shot of the game.

He just missed a second one a few possessions later that would have put the game away.

I think that may be the nub of things.

Is Jimmy Dykes providing commentary for tomorrow's game?
This will affect my level of rooting for Arkansas.

Q is just so quick and smooth on the drive & around the basket. Definitely next level.

Herb had a great game but I thought Oats should have put the ball in JQs hands on that last offensive possession.

In the tournament I want the ball in his hands

I would think Vitale is the 1-A, unless he’s doing some other game

The defensive improvement of Shack, JQ and even Reese since last year and early this year is remarkable.

Bama is 35.5 for the season, 90th best. But it opens up the inside and we have guys who can attack the basket. So it works.

Oats isn't against an open 10 footer. But it better be open. And you better hit most of them.
