Saw someone say that Diaz is like a combination of Mark Sears and Aden Holloway. There will always be a spot in a Nate Oats backcourt for an offensively gifted guard like that. I am curious to see what he will look like on the defensive end though. Has there been any commentary on that anywhere?

Considering his size, he’s unlikely to be a dominant individual defender. Just need him to not be a liability.

A former Crimson Tide player is back in Alabama and playing basketball, but not in Tuscaloosa.

Sam Walters, who was a member of Nate Oats' historic Final Four team, has signed to the fourth school of his collegiate career since his true freshman season at Alabama.

The forward will play the 2026-27 season at Troy after his most recent stop at SMU. Following his year with UA, Walters transferred to Michigan.

At SMU, Walters started twice, but saw time in 24 games.

During his time at Alabama, Walters averaged 12.3 minutes per contest and notched a career-best average of 5.4 points per game while shooting 42.7%. He also grabbed 2.4 rebounds per game.

Troy, which went 22-12 on its second straight NCAA Tournament run last season, will open its 2026-27 non-conference slate on November 2 at home against UMass.

What are our nonconference Tuscaloosa home games besides Seton Hall, Kennesaw State, and Samford?

Interesting how saying this which is basically the same thing I said - he won’t be a great individual defender due to size - but doing it implicitly is well received here. lmao

Marcus Spears Jr. reclassifying and going to Texas.

Ngl.. kinda feel bad for LSU fans. If one of our greatest football players ever had a son who was the #1 recruit in the country and he didn’t come to Bama I would be suicidal

I mean, 2026 seniors did kinda get screwed. everyone ahead of them got a covid year, everyone after gets 5 for 5. Theyre sandwiched. Only guy we had that would be eligible for this if it went nationwide would be the only senior we dont want back

Even a die-hard alum and football icon can suddenly forget where he graduated from… funny what a rival school’s money can do

Marcus Spears had a long NFL career then a long broadcasting career. I have my doubts that money was the primary concern. His son is a power forward and Sean Miller has a great reputation for developing for bigs. This was about getting to the association.

His sister is also a volleyball player at texas. So I think his family were comfortable with the school already.

I don’t know why, outside of inflated money, anybody would play for Will Wade or Lane Kiffin, and Texas money can beat LSU money every time for a top player.

If my son was a QB or WR, I could be sold on Kiffin giving them a good chance of making an NFL roster. I’m not sure Wade’s reputation is that deeply furnished in college to pro transition yet.

Now that the roster is set, anyone wanna take a stab at the lineup and minutes? I watche this "Barnes on Bama" YouTube channel and I think he way undervalues Anderson Diaz.
