Awesome start, don't care if we are playing County High and Hillcrest, 4-0 is fantastic for this program at this point in time.

Washington State will be a nice step up. They were picked low in the P12 but they just beat UC-Riverside and Grand Canyon and a couple decent games with Nebraska.

Take 2/3, sweep Samford and Alabama State and go to Oklahoma at 8-1. That'd be nice. Very, very nice.

I was looking at going to Sunday's game. RollTide.com has a game time of 9am. That has to be a mistake, right?

Bohannon making people choose between the traditional service and the Alabama baseball game - bold strategy cotton.

Someone explain to me what is going on in Starkvegas. What's this love triangle stuff? (involving the x baseball coach over there). Is it just about an Ala grad, that worked in Starkville, and took a job at U of FL? And obviously the x baseball coach at Starkvegas.

The schedule now has it as a DH Friday and the third game on Saturday. No Sunday game. Makes sense given how far WSU has to travel home.

Only know what many already have shared on the SECR.
It is my hope that Bama reaches out to the AL kids who are committed to MSU and get them to flip. Lots of in-state talent going elsewhere. I know AU is reaching out to 1 of the recruits who is a LHP and I hope Bama staff does the same and does it quickly.

Maybe we will; however, I think that a lot of the Alabama kids that go to MSU go there because they want to play baseball for MSU - amazing home stadium and atmosphere and tons of resources put into baseball. Their AD being a former baseball coach certainly helps in that regard, but it's been that way since before he ever got there from UK. I suspect most of those kids are excited about playing there regardless of the coach in place.

I hope we can keep it rolling tomorrow. Student crowds have been solid so far this year. This should be a pretty evenly matched series.

Jim Wells stemmed the flow of home grown talent leaving for Mississippi State. It was no coincidence MSU saw some lean years for the latter half of the time Wells was at Alabama.

Hope the storms scatter around the stadium. Other than that, weather should be amazing.

How good is Washinton St? Should I expect another sweep.

- Picked 10th out of 11 in the Pac 12
- Went 24-29 (10-20) in 2017

But, they are a P5 opponent, and we still aren't very good. So, I think a realistic expectation is to win the series.

From RollTide.com

quote:

SCOUTING WASHINGTON STATE

• Washington State returns 18 letter winners, including eight positional starters and two starting pitchers, from the 2017 team that finished 24-29 overall and 10-20 in the Pac-12. The 2018 roster is without nine letter winners from a season ago, a number that is comprised of one positional starter and one pitcher, while WSU welcomes 16 newcomers.

• The Cougars were selected to finish 10th overall in the Pac-12 in the conference's preseason poll, as voted on by the league coaches

• Marty Lees is now in his third season as a head coach, all with Washington State. Over his first two seasons, the Cougars were 43-64. WSU comes to Tuscaloosa with a 2-3 mark in the 2018 campaign. A 1994 graduate of Western Oregon, Lees is joined by assistant coaches Dan Spencer and Jim Homer, both in their third seasons with the Cougar baseball team.

• Washington State University is a public university located in Pullman, Wash., and boasts an enrollment of 19,556 students. It was founded on March 28, 1890 as Washington State College, less than five months after Washington gained statehood. The school's name was changed to Washington State University in 1959.

Washington State Results 2018

Husker Classic - Tempe, AZ (don't quite get that but whatever)
vs UC Riverside (L 8-1)
vs Nebraska (L 8-3)
vs Nebraska (L 5-3)
vs UC Riverside (W 7-6)
vs Grand Canyon (W 5-4)

Just now realized we have a doubleheader today, game three tomorrow, and are off Sunday.

Any specific reason we did that this weekend?

I assume it has to do with UW having to travel/school schedule. If we played on Sunday, they wouldn't get back until Monday afternoon or later.
