Five more wins in those 9 one run loss SEC games and we are thinking regional. But that’s baseball in the SEC.

We lose a bunch of contributors to graduation. I hope Bohannon has got some talent coming in because if not we'll probably be worse.

Baseball team has been trying to come back against Ole Miss all day, with a long weather delay to mostly blame. Currently 7 to 6 in the bottom of the 6th Ole miss.

They lost 10 to 8, maybe they'll have better luck next year.

I think that the pitcher from Helena is going to be pretty good. We got the better of there two guys. Incoming short stop hit a bomb off my son last summer.

Hope the kids coming in are ready to contribute.

does anyone follow HS baseball enough to know what we have coming in including the JUCO kids. I assume JUCO kids will be looked upon to contribute right away

This got me. Junior Chandler Taylor spends extra time in right field after the game and Senior Hunter Alexander is on first. It was their last game

They deserved a better sendoff. I hope they can take some comfort in knowing that they were ground zero of the rebuilding job that Bohannon will accomplish in Tuscaloosa.

Anybody else following the tournament?
It’s pretty remarkable we beat any of these teams to be honest. All of these teams are ridiculous . Highly entertaining week so far.

I'm not a huge baseball fan at all, but I love the SEC tournament. These teams are damn good.

I can’t wait until we are back to the same caliber as these teams.

It looks like Alabama will lose some much needed oomph from its recruiting class after decisions from the MLB draft are made.
It is still a top notch class that will make an immediate impact in 2019. And the product on the field will show. 21 are slated to join Alabama this fall, with that number likely reducing to 17 after decisions are made.
Most of the current juniors on the roster selected are expected to sign and leave. The biggest hit will be Vance.

SIGNEES
Arkansas high school outfielder P.J. Hilson was the first one chosen, in the sixth round, number 166 overall by the San Fransisco Giants. Hilson is a much needed piece for coach Brad Bohannon and the Tide in 2019, but may be hard pressed to turn down the money, (slot for that pick is right at $300,000.)
Catcher-infielder Bryan Lavastida, a junior college product expected to compete for playing time next season, was next, picked in the 15th round (460 overall) by the Cleveland Indians. Lavastida is out of Hillsborough Community College in Florida. Most expect him to sign and begin his pro career.
Incoming freshman right handed pitcher Dylan Smith was taken by San Diego in the 18th round, number 531 overall. Smith is a tall, thin, very athletic, player who also plays outfield. He has the frame to add weight and strength, and would seemingly benefit from the college experience. Smith comes from an education-first family and plans on majoring in engineering. That being said, it will likely be touch and go on getting him to campus, and it may be close to the deadline in late July before a decision is made.
High school pitcher Taylor Ras, out of New Jersey was expected to be a fairly high draft pick, but fell to the 33rd round. The Chicago Cubs took Ras with the 998th pick. Ras has let the Cubs know he appreciated being drafted, but he will be enrolling at Alabama, which is a huge get for coach Brad Bohannon and the Tide.
Junior college RHP Will Freeman was the next player with Alabama ties picked, in the 36th round by the San Diego Padres with the 1071st pick. It appears that Freeman will wait until closer to the deadline to make a decision.
The last player selected was junior college catcher-infielder Brett Auerbach by Colorado in the 40th round, with pick number 1206. Speculation is that Auerbach will be in a Tide uniform come next season.

Maybe I'm wearing my crimson colored glasses but this isn't enough to make me turn pro. I would invest in my belief that I could get better in college and make more in the long run. I don't know what kind of situation these kids are in financially, but if their families are stable, then I'd for sure skip the draft

Wanted to start a thread on this, but when do you guys actually see us making it back to Omaha? We can beat this whole lottery thing to death, but 3 teams (Auburn, State, and Ole Miss) seem to be doing just fine without it. We're seeing that all it takes is the right HC. Whether Bohannon can get us there or not remains to be seen, but I don't think we're in any position to give up early on a coach. Much rather us be patient and show that we're willing to commit to someone to let them build up their program. If he starts winning, the Joe will be filled. I was young, but there were some fun Saturdays with my dad at the Joe when Wells was the coach.
I don't claim to be a baseball expert, but I do like watching it more than softball. I hate not seeing us in the postseason, and I hate how a program with two trips to the title struggles now to even stay out of last place.
