Not really. He’s not painting the corners or anything. He’s throwing mid 90s pretty much down the middle.
We just can’t hit for shite.
You ever play ball, Max?

I mean OU pitcher looked like Greg Maddux out there today and sometime you just run into a buzz saw.
Did he though? Or was it Bama being Bama?
We haven’t faced a pitcher near that caliber since the SEC Tourney, with similar results.
We cannot hit good pitching and have never been able to.

Ah yes. SECrant. A bastion of intelligence and people who know their arse from their elbow.
Wait, you think the bama baseball thread has more knowledgeable posters than the SECRant baseball threads?
You clearly haven’t read the baseball threads for the past 5 years

Yes I did lol.
Kid was 5-3 with a 5.2 ERA all year and we’re a bad offensive team and yall want to act like he’s Cy Young. Never cease to amaze me.

It’s both, which is why it’s been so ugly

I’m SHOCKED that after Nolan Ryan reincarnate went out that we didn’t suddenly start knocking it around the park. I was told we were helpless due to his Godlike velocity and command.

Shutout in Omaha. Get this fricking hitting coach out of here.

After today, I give this team 9 more innings til their summer.

Yep. Our only chance to avoid 2 & Q was for Fay to pitch a gem and us win a 3-2 type game. Once OU hit the 2R HR to go up 5-0, our season was essentially over.
We may have a very, very small chance of beating Texas if Adams pitches his best game ever and we use all of our arms including Upchurch while Texas has an off hitting game. We’d have to win it 3-2 in extras or something. That’s about a 10-15% probability.

Pretty fricking embarrassing effort today.

That probably won’t go well for us, then. I don’t like our chances either way. We honestly aren’t a team that has Omaha caliber players, but we somehow made it to Omaha. Very good season either way

It's been a bad game, but no reason to beat yourself up like that.

We struggled all year against lefties. Today shouldn’t have been a huge surprise from a hitting standpoint

At the end of the day Vaughn has this program headed in a great direction in his 3rd year. We got a good one and will be fun to see the program continue to grow.

I doubt upchurch pitches in any shape form or fashion tomorrow. I was surprised he pitched Crowther.

I’d have Adams on a pretty short leash and go to Upchurch or even Heiberger (sp?) if we’re getting down more than 2 runs. No reason to save anyone if we don’t win tomorrow, and it would be nice if Upchurch got some actual CWS experience since I think he’s the only weekend starter returning next year.

Yep. He’s likely next year’s Friday night starter. Some post season experience would be nice.
