Not as much fun last night… spotted too many runs right off the bat. Still love the fight in this team. Back at it today.

Perhaps he is. From what I have seen, which is somewhat limited, he has seemed to sit more upper 80s occasionally low 90s. However, good pitchers don’t over rely on velocity. So, that is good if he has that in the tank. His command is really good and his secondary stuff as well. To me that is what makes him formidable. Quick was upper 90s with no control (ump did seem to have a really tight zone, though) and zero reliable off speed.

As to the blood blister, that is a legit excuse. Should he have pitched? Ehhh. Knowing the situation coach maybe should have had a shorter leash. I think Quick’s psyche does not handle negativity or a sense of disapproval well. Some guys are coach pleasers and the stress gets to them when they think coach is disappointed. A blister could have been a good excuse to get him out earlier.

I don’t know. Sometimes you want a guy to compete. A coach also would rather not have to go to his bullpen in the second inning. A lot of ifs and buts.

Back in my prime, I had a 70 degree rule for pitchers. Until then, they wore sleeves.

Down 9-0. Pitching is a problem this year.

Wasn't no problem vs. AM. The problem this series seems to be UMPS with a tight strike zone, 9 Walks yesterday basically gave them the game. Todays 3rd pitcher is going to be hit and miss of course.

All I can say is that Quick owes us another year. He doesn’t need to be a pure project for three years and not be a serious contributor at some point.

Couldn’t get anything going today offensively. Pitching was shaky. Tough day at the Joe. Go beat UNA (in Huntsville Tuesday night) then come home & take 3 from Oklahoma.

It might’ve been an issue Friday & Saturday, but not sure you can say it’s been an issue this season. The bats went dead on Sunday.

I’m embarrassed.

I’m not used to people going out of their way to make satire jokes about Alabama baseball.

We’re back.

At least I wasn’t the only one.

It’s weird what counts as “satire” these days. It’s just misinformation. The fact that people have time to create twitter accounts to make up stupid shite to try to trick people is weird and dumb.
