The AD treats baseball like football...nickeling and diming people that attend the games. Concessions that are way too expensive...lame between-inning entertainment.
No one is taking their family to a ballgame for overpriced tickets, overpriced concessions, etc.
Push the envelope if you have to. Get some hot chicks to dance on the dugout in between innings. Throw out t-shirts, do bingo...anything but the borefest it is now

There are 3-4 guys that can hit pretty well, but the other 5-6 starters are ALL 8 or 9 hole hitters on a good team, at best. It's that simple.

I know I’m going over the top, but I was told the starters were the reason the bullpen was struggling. But our 3 main starters never pitched less than 6 innings in the postseason and left the bullpen with a 2 run lead in our “win or go home for the summer” game.
Seems that poster (rhymes with “Late Choker”) should probably call it quits until after next baseball season out of sheer embarrassment.

You really shouldn't argue with Late Choker. He literally knows everything there is to know about baseball. I think he played in high school or something.

Ozmer did his best and pitched well most of the year, but the fact that he and Myers were our late inning arms speaks to the lack of recruiting and/or development taking place with the pitching staff. High level teams are rolling out power arms in those roles. Guys with velo have margin for error. Our guys do not. Now, we have power arms. But they just aren’t used very much and maybe they don’t deserve to be. But at some point we’ve got to start developing these guys, because we clearly arent paying for the guys that are ready to come in and win.

Rough post season. A shame this was the cap to an otherwise promising regular season. I loved this team - warts and all. Nothing more to contribute at this time. Will start a roster tracker in the next day or so as I look to the 2025-26 season.

As bad as the postseason was, we were about 4-5 feet from playing Columbia tonight and being in the catbird seat. But we just didn’t make the plays, and right now our margin for error isn’t what some other places are. Hopefully next year we take another step forward.
