We’re playing guys who are very average. We have ZERO difference makers on the defensive line. CKD just refuses to recruit 5 star DT/DEs. Been this way for 3 recruiting cycles now.
People say, “Oh, we’ll get some in portal.” Problem is, there are usually only 2-3 big time defensive linemen in the portal each cycle. Most of the defensive linemen in the portal are former 2-3 star guys who are average at best.
Things are only going to get worse. I hate to say it but the refusal to sign good defensive linemen is going to only accelerate the death spiral.
