The reason why I think this staff is good but not really going to win big here is that they don't adapt.
They haven't learned by year 3 that you have to reduce your offense a bit on the road in this conference everywhere but Kentucky and Vandy. It is too fricking loud to be doing a bunch of late check-with-mes and motions everywhere else. Especially with a fairly young OL with a backup and first year starting underclassman QB.
They wasted two years of recruiting on defense not upgrading size on defense and now they finally understood the need this offseason but could not afford to buy the amount of size they needed. Thus we lose 1 NT and we can't stop the run at all.
These guys are probably Kirk Ferentz type institutions at some Big Ten school because they'll almost never have to play two all-time top 25 winning percentage teams back to back there much last have more than 2 of them on the schedule ever.
