You sound worried. I’m not that one on here pumping up Sark and Texas like they’re going to come in Bryant Denny and kick Bama’s arse

Texas is the first real test...no one disputes that. We'll know the starting QB for the season coming out of next Saturday. Milroe can lock it down with a good first half... otherwise someone else will enter the game with a chance to claim the position for the season.

I was happy with Milroe yesterday. Sub par competition, but no glaring errors. Would have liked to see him be efficient on some intermediate passes and slants, but we'll see.

He is obviously the best option at this time. Anyone who would go through all of rhat research obviously has an agenda they won’t to promote. Here’s what I saw. No turnovers, dynamic legs and a great long ball. Yes he has some growing yo do and I hope Simpson continues to get some time and improve but Jalen did exactly what most of us said he needed to do stretch the defense, use his athletic ability and don’t make mistakes. Let the other playmakers Cary the weight. If you aren’t impressed by what he did and his demeanor during and after the game then you were looking to shite on him to begin with.

Ok. Well Bama is Texas’s first real test. You think Rice is that much better than mtsu. Texas didn’t look any better then Bama yesterday.

I wasn't that impressed with first half honestly. Up until the long td throw he had 65 yards passing for the half. With the bomb it was 112. That's not inspiring anyway you look at it. Especially since there were no long rushing scores or solid run game that was marching offense down the field.

However in the 2nd half he seemed a bit more on with passes. I think his head is in the right place and so is his heart. I believe he has the team behind him. I hope he continues to get better and better.

I would have like to have seen Simpson open up the playbook a little more. I think he gonna be the best out of the bunch but not this year.

He has improved but still staring down the primary receiver every time and that’s where every pass was thrown

It’s been said that Lonergan could end up being the best of the group when all is said and done. And we still have Julian Sayin coming in next season.

Correct, MTSU is not a decent team in any aspect. Penalties didn't help them either

I normally appreciate your posts but this is a stupid take. Can the coaches not learn anything when the guys play walk ons in practice. Are 1 on 0 throwing drills worthless? Obviously not, otherwise we wouldn’t do them.

The question was never whether he could run past MTSU defenders. It’s about the process.

Did he throw a more consistently accurate ball? Yes. Did he stand in the pocket and go through reads before taking off more consistently? Yes. Did he play intelligent football? Yes. Did he manage the offense well? Yes.

These are all big improvements from the last we saw of him. That’s not to say he will dominate in big games but to say there’s zero reason to have increased confidence is flat out stupid.

Milroes deep ball looked much improved, especially the one to Niblack. His intermediate stuff looked shaky as hell. A couple of them looked late and slow and only worked because it was MTSU. Next week will definitely tell more.

Buchner looks like a slightly better Cooper Bateman. His ball floats and is routinely high. He is not the answer, but will provide nice depth and would definitely be a good emergency option.

The ball looks so much more natural coming out of Simpsons hand. The little slant inside the 5 looked really good, but it was such a small sample size it’s hard to really pass too much judgement.

I think Milroe is the best option until he proves otherwise. More live game reps should only make him more comfortable and if he continues to improve his pocket awareness, look out. His ability in the open field is the best Bamas had, maybe ever at the QB spot.

You nailed the Buchner comparison. Bateman’s balls did look the same. It was obviously after his first game time that he was not the answer but just a backup.

Sounds like there is nothing he could have done last night to make you feel confident.

Wrong. If he had thrown even just a couple of intermediate passes on target. If he had come off his first read even once and thrown a completion...

It's clear that he's not a natural QB. He impressed me with his deep ball, and that's a nice skill to have, but overall he's just not it, and a lot of fans can feel that.

He's simply Blake Sims 2.0

Bring Blake Sims 2.0 is a compliment. Blake broke almost every single season record in 2014. You act as if Blake was a disappointment.

Blake was better than Coker, McElroy, JPW “, Hurts and had more arm talent than Mccarron. We were a good defense away from Blake being a starting national championship quarterback.

So I’d be ecstatic to have another Blake Sims.

Blake was one of the major limiting factors to that team winning a title. And it wasn’t “a good defense away”, that defense put us up 21-0 and Blake choked away the game because all you had to do was bracket Amari and he couldn’t throw to anyone else. The man had OJ Howard wide open and chucked it straight to a Vonn Bell who didn’t even have to move to catch the ball

I love Blake, but he wasn’t better than Coker when it mattered. Through November and the playoffs Coker was relatively lights out and won us the Clemson game with a clutch scramble under pressure

Coker never had to win a game with his arm because he had a wayyy better defense than Blake. Coker had a heisman winner in the backfield.

Unless I missed something, we didn't struggle in the run game against Ohio State. The issue on offense was Sims throwing three interceptions and struggling to push downfield in general without Amari.

Between Michigan State and Clemson, Coker threw for a 73% completion rate, 600+ yards, and four touchdowns with no turnovers. The difference between the two of them from November onwards is that Sims had six more turnovers as more tape pushed defenses to bracket Amari.

Again, I love Sims for fighting for the job all those years, winning it, and giving it his all. But by no means was he a good passer. Against a defense with a pulse and as more tape came out, he struggled heavily compared to Coker.

What’s your answer? We have who we have. Milroe is apparently the best of that group at this point in time.

We lost because we stopped running Henry it’s actually that simple.
