If he is the best candidate around, it wiukd be a great finger in the eye of the whiny UAB crowd. Big brother takes away your girlfriend.

I really don't care about the UAB crowd.

Can't really see why you would either.

I was relegated to UAB hell for a couple of years when I was not at 'Bama. Those folks hate UA as much as Aubies. And they complain non-stop about the "Main campus" and "UAT" and about separating and how terrible the rich daddy's boys in Tuscaloosa are.

Who gives a shite?

And no Bama fan would give a rat's arse about Clark if he was at a similar school in any of the other 49 states.

I hope he'd be a guy many would notice.

Bill Clark was a shitty human being at Prattville and I would certainly consider not watching if he became our coach.

This is true. The faculty hates UAT as they believe UAT gets all the love and money. Outside of the graduate programs, UAB feels like they get the short-shrift. UAB faculty, admin., and staff hate UA's BOT.

The Clark/UAB story is a feel good story. I’ve never cared for UAB but it is kind of cool.

That said, if the Alabama coaching position opened tomorrow, Clark should be down the list. I want someone who has experience with handling a major program that’s under a microscope. Someone who has experience with the vicious knife fight that is Southeast recruiting.

LOL us hiring Bill Clark in 2019 would be the literal equivalent of the SEC basketball programs hiring the latest hot Sun Belt/CUSA coach to come in and implode back in the late 2000s.

Clark may end up being awesome at a big level, but we ain't hiring coaches from CUSA schools with zero big time football experience to take over this machine.

It’s just silly to even suggest it at this point.
