These young men sacrifice more than I could imagine to play football. At no point in my life have I had the skill, stamina, or guts to do what they do.

Having said that, nobody on that list is causing me to worry overmuch about our team for 2024, especially since I just read Little may be coming back out of the portal and sticking with us.

I thought Goodwine might get more playing time next year, and Ferguson may have been a starter on the OL, but that's about it.

Unlike 3 years ago, they're getting paid cash money to play. Sacrificing? Please. They work at a job that pays them nicely.

The only one I'm surprised about is Earl. I would guess he got passed by Dez Ricks and doesn't see a good path,
or he's just chasing money .

Ty Simpson staying is a huge surprise to me. I understand the players have a meeting with CNS at the end of the season. I wonder if this is an indication that Milroe's job isn't safe. It would surprise me to know he would settle for being second string with the opportunities for playing time and NIL he would have in the portal.

And nothing of value was lost. What a dud Benson turned out be. Another A-Day All-American.

Also, I like Nilback but he clearly half asses for the majority of games.

Agreed. Furguson would have been good for practice/ depth.

We had to cut 5 because of our scholarship numbers. I hope this means that we are going to be able to get the checkbook out and pull in more top talent from the portal.

They can go to Colorado. They pay big time for Alabama portal players.

He was gone when Longerhan beat him out for 3QB above Buchner around midseason.

Good special teams player but probably wants to start at safety somewhere. Good luck to him.

quote:

Earl Little Jr.

Staff needs to re-recruit him full-court press. He could start here next year.

quote:

Malik Benson

Thoroughly unimpressed with him as a JUCO transfer.

quote:

Monkell Goodwine

Don't think he played much this year as a 3rd year DL. He's probably not going to break into the lineup.

quote:

Shazz Preston

Wouldn't be surprised if he follow Wiggins

quote:

Miles Kistelmal

TE is set with the 3 main contributors.

quote:

Terrence Ferguson

Underwhelmed at guard. Booker and Roberts got the starting positioned locked.

quote:

Seth McLaughlin

He was honored on Senior Day. He was gone well before the Rose Bowl so don't let people hoodwink you into thinking Bad Gumps Online chased him off.

They're playing a game, not enlisting in the military. Embarrassing to talk like this.

It sucks that Little is leaving but I thought story said he was staying. If Story leaves then that's tampering at its finest.

I knew this would happen. Not a fan. I like Roydell and I know he loves Bama but I was so excited to see Jam and Haynes get the carries next year. Back to average RB play for another year I guess...

If a RB like Young ends up transferring because of this then it's really a failure at managing your roster. Sometimes you have to make the tough call and tell a player like Roydell to move on.

I still think that Haynes ends up getting most of the carries. Roydell ran well against Georgia. I like him but understand it maybe make somebody like Young decide to transfer. Another reason to hate the portal.

If Jam and Justice continue to improve and play up to their ability then they will pass Roydell regardless of him being a senior.

With Lawson coming back, I imagine we're about to see a bunch of ILBs hit the portal. Curious when those floodgates will open.

I am more excited about the Jam/Justice show than I am about anything next season. I really, really thought that we'd see a lot more of them than we did this season.
