Let's not. Tom calls conservative plays. He believe in protecting the ball, safe plays. If a team is up by 14 points, he'll switch into conservative mode immediately.

Herman:
2016- Houston 35.8 per game.
2017 Texas- 29.5
2018-Texas 31.1
2019-35.2

Alabama has been averaging over 40 points a game since 2017 with the exception of last season under BOB.

thats not really much different than saban anyway. once we are ahead comfortably he doesnt keep pushing. Its really my only complaint about him as a coach. i think once you are ahead, you pull the starters and then you call the game with the backup like it was 0-0, so they also get the killer spirit ingrained in them.

39.87 and was well over 40 until the playoff games. They had the best offense in the SEC this year and one of the best in the country considering the defenses we played.

last time he was an OC he took ohio state, which averaged 24.5 ppg in 2011 season prior to his arrival to averaging 37.2 in 2012, 44.5 in 2013, and 44.8 in 2014. I remember that offense well, it was really good at exploiting weaknesses in opposing defenses, and was able to function when QBs had to change due to injury

Dan Mullen is a possibility. You don't run Bryce Young but I think he can adjust to that.

Here's a name way out of left field but.. Hugh Freeze. He's been in the wilderness maybe long enough, the NCAA doesn't have the teeth they once had, he's a hell of a coach and offensive mind, he and Saban are tight AND we can surely outbid Liberty.

I heard a journalist out of Auburn say he expects Freeze to be back in the SEC sooner than many others think. But, he was talking about in a head coach role.

No openings at the moment. Maybe Auburn soon but they will be a train wreck for awhile.

The Bama OC job has been a proven stepping stone to bigger things, and it pays pretty well. Better than where he is now.

Just a guess here, but I think we'll get another NFL assistant looking to make a name for himself that Saban and/or Belichik have vetted and know pretty well. Don't know who fits that description but that's who I'm betting we end up with, another Dabol type.

I am in the ABM crowd…. Anybody But Mullen. If there is one coach who could control him it would be Saban but I hope to god he is not the choice

I'm no fan of Mullen, but I'm not going to plant my flag on the ABM mound. I seem to recall there wasn't a lot of love for Kiffen when he was hired to be the OC. He was considered pretty toxic and people were afraid that what happened at the end of his tenure at UA would have been what went on his entire career there. Turned out pretty well. After Sark was fired in ATL, I don't think people were as polarized about him as they are other coaches, but to say the fan base was underwhelmed would be an understatement. I think the Clemson loss in the Championship game was still stuck in our memories and people were afraid that it would be more of the same.

I'm no Mullen fan, however, when the guy has talent to coach, he can coach them up. One thing Alabama always has, is talent.

If Saban hires someone, he thinks they can do the job.

Surge,

It just dawned on me... When Joe Judge got fired from Giants.. who was their OC?
LINK /

He hasn't landed anywhere yet. I'm willing to bet that's our OC.

Saban has tried to hire Kitchen on several occasions. Saban will seize opportunity to hire him as OC, as he is available now. It has to be him.
