I know ole miss is leading.. I think this one might become a bidding war. Which usually takes us out when it gets too obvious

Drew Sanders ran a 10.9 100m back in April. Didn't know he had that kind of speed. That makes two linebackers in this class (Sanders, Kennedy) with verified sub 11 second 100m times. Video is below

What was up with the "junior varsity" thing?

Not sure, but with the size of the big schools in Texas I'd imagine it's more like a "B team" than how we would view JV here in Alabama, which is typically a freshman team.
Basically a division for the kids that are really fast but not really really fast. It would be a shame if kids running a sub 11 100m weren't able to run track in high school because they happen to compete in a district with schools with massive enrollments
Regardless, anything sub 11 is moving for a football player and you typically only see that in skill guys and the freakish athletes. Jamyr Gibbs for example would lose a 100m race to Kennedy and Sanders. Derrius Guice had a personal best of 10.92, slower than Sanders and Kennedy as well. These guys can run like a deer. Jase Mclellan has a PR of 10.91 for reference. Snagging linebackers that can move like that is not common

Dang Surge, hope we close a little stronger than that. Just adding a 3 star plan B TE would be a fizzle finish.
Our staff needs to do whatever it takes to close with one blue chippers still out there. If we can hold onto Baker and Burroughs (meaning their grades looks good), add Frazier and then a big time DL, OL or WR, that should be a realistic target finish.

I think sanders starts next year somewhere if he bulks up

I hope he doesn't add too much weight. He's already a pretty thickly built kid in the lower body. He's listed at 230 but looks heavier than that, I'm also assuming he's probably a legitimate 6'3" rather than the listed 6'5"
I'm in the same boat though, I think one of the freshmen will win an OLB job. Sanders, Braswell, and Anderson all have the right stuff on film. I think Robinson probably needs a year to get a better feel for the position

Predictions...does Braswell start out at ILB or OLB?

All of our 2020 LB signees except QRob are early enrollees. I think the staff will try to determine ASAP this spring which one(s) besides Kennedy and Bratton they want to develop to play ILB.

I'd be ok with this: Sign (1) Baker, (2) Burroughs, plus (3) Frazier & (4) Collins if we can get them. Give Clark a voluntary withdrawal replacement scholly that won't count against the annual 25 limits; Jones too if there'll be room under the 85 limit. With S&C, Burroughs might be as good as Jackson, and Idk if Henderson really brings any more to the party than Holden. That'd be 26 total signees, saving 1 unused spot we could spend on a transfer if needed or a 2021 early enrollee.

Brandon Frazier’s top 4:

I don't think Sanders needs to add much weight. He needs to keep his speed and flexibility.
If it's up to me, I'm playing him both ways a good bit. We need a pass catching TE. I'm playing him at LB and TE.
