Alabama TE target LINK ]Brandon Frazier is down to four programs, he announced on Thursday. The schools making the cut are Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, and Texas Tech. This lines up with what the McKinney (TX) North product told BOL earlier this month. The only program no longer in the mix is Iowa State.
The 6-foot-7, 247-pounder hosted Tide TE coach Jeff Banks on an in-home visit earlier this month and is now looking at potential official visit dates. One date of note now set is an Auburn official visit on Jan. 17-19. The former Razorbacks commit has already taken official visits to Arkansas and Texas Tech. The Tide would have two open dates to get him on campus, Jan. 24-26 or Jan. 31-Feb. 2 before February's National Signing Day.
“Knowing that they’ll win,” Frazier said of what has him interested in the Tide. “Also just seeing potential player I could become at Bama. They use the tight end pretty often. They put some tight ends in the league. It’s cool envisioning myself playing there, especially for a big-time program like that.”
The Tide is working to add another tight end in its 2020 class and Frazier is a name to track down the stretch. The Lone Star State standout says he's been in regular communication with Alabama in recent weeks. On the year Frazier had 33 catches for 751 yards and seven touchdowns.

I think Bama closes with Burroughs, Frazier, Marc Britt, Ty'kieast Crawford and Alfred Collins.

LINK ]Buyer's market: The top 10 transfer portal players available (247Sports)
#1 WR, #8 player in 2018 class. He'd have to sit out the 2020 season unless he gets a waiver, but it seems like that would work out ok for Bama, especially if Smith or Ruggs returns for another season. Idk if Bama has been in contact. (hudl)

LINK ]Justin Shorter, WR, Penn State (hudl)
Ranking: No. 8 in the 2018 class
The most naturally talented prospect in the transfer portal, Shorter’s career at Penn State never really managed to get going. A knee injury caused Shorter to redshirt his freshman season, and Shorter caught only 12 passes for 137 yards this season. Still, Shorter is a tantalizing talent. Six-foot-4, 226 pounds with a massive wingspan and 4.52 speed in the 40-yard dash, Shorter is a prototype “X” receiver. He’s a jump ball magnet capable of blowing off the top of defense. Shorter will not lack for suitors on the open market.

Theo Howard and Tarik Black should do the trick.

Tarik was very high on Bama during his recruitment.

Seriously
What is there not to like? Kid is agreesive, blocks well, uses his body well in blocking and receiving. Has soft hands.

To be honest, I would rather go the portal route then settle on some of the recievers we actually have a shot at this year.
We've missed on the big one the past recruiting periods and it's quite shocking considering how well Waddle, Jeudy, etc have been playing.
I find it odd we can't get the top wideouts yet Clemson always gets the big wideouts. Kid recognize big WRs suceed there... how do they not see explosive WRs end up 1st rounders here?

BF reminds me of former Ark QB Matt Jones when he runs. Deceptive speed.

I find it odd you have so much faith in children to possess much logic

He's a waist bender and it doesn't appear that his team asks him to run many true routes. Modern TEs aren't really asked to be part time OTs anymore so his bendiness isn't all that important, but it's something he still probably needs to work on so he can keep his pad level low in short yardage. And he can learn how to run routes. As for size, speed, hands, body control, and effort he looks pretty solid. Definitely underrated. He should probably be a top 250-300 player.

Yep. People look at recruiting through their adult eyes instead of the eyes of a 17/18 year old boy. Also, it's impossible to know which kids are getting money, how much, and from whom. Money takes what little logic you can find in the thought process of a 17 year old boy completely out of the equation.

Is Frazier going to let us down and go elsewhere?

They seem to possess this logic when they are 6'3 WR.

I acted lived this so I definitely understand the mindset.
The money part is the only unpredictable aspect. However the consistency at which tall wideouts pick Clemson citing their success developing their type is extermely high.
