Our board wants the Gibbs RB at this point. But we all know if (Evans) signs with LSU that narrative will change.

Yep. Lot of LSU fans would be like:
quote:

5-star #1 RB! We comin'! We ridin'!

However, it appears that Evans has already signed with Georgia.

The reason Kirby wanted it kept quiet is because he didn't want the bad look of his 11th-hour attempt and getting turned down.

That isn't a bad look

As long as y'all win frick all, I'm good with the foolishness and underhanded tactics.

If that continues that shite will come back to haunt you guys.

Would he be crazy to leave the easy P12 for SEC?

Well hell yeah

He’s the biggest fish in a conference full of underachievers (West coast Clemson) with Nike’s full-fledged support.

Why would he leave that to a fanbase in the south that would want his head on a spike after back to back 9 win seasons?

He can stay out there and be a perennial CFP contender.

I could honestly see the next head coach hiring being a big let down then after that making a big boom hire

I love how Georgia fans come to the Bama board to defend Kirby's honor

Agreed. You have less margin or error in P12 but a much easier schedule to run the table

I'm not 100% sure, but Evans plans to announce at the Under Armour game and then enroll early. There's also been chatter that he reached out to Bama and UGA, Bama told him we're full at RB, and UGA signed him. And there's a run of new CB picks for UGA, including picks by LSU, A&M and UGA mods.

Good job with everything, Surge. You've managed to keep it all organized and I know I couldn't do it

On behalf of all of us degenerates, thank you

Yeah I think we are good when it comes to highly rated headcases. Best of luck to UGA and their locker room.

Thanks, bro.

I did some enhancement work on the 1st & 2nd posts last night and this morning: (1) Turned the Early Signing Period Priorties stuff I had created into a recap of how all of that played out, which resets the stage; and (2) Clarified where we're sitting now with our remaining available spots, unsigned commits and top targets.

Now the 2nd post better illustrates and explains how Bama can take Clark and Jones via options that would avoid them counting against 2020 limits, providing for enough room to sign Baker and Burroughs plus three more. Initial targets listed are WR Henderson, TE Frazier, DT Jackson and DE Collins, but others could emerge.

We're now in a Dead Period (12/16-01/16) -- no in-person contact. So, 'cruitin' will be pretty quiet except for a lot of recruiting site coverage of the all-star games, including some announcements.

and Merry Christmas, everyone!!

Rumblings that Ruggs' brother is looking at BAMA from JUCO. Believe he played LB at Ole Myth for a year and transferred. Folks are saying he played S in JUCO.

Might be another reason for Ruggs to stick around.

Yeah, it was mentioned a few pages ago as a potential reason for Ruggs to come back. Not sure that we would offer him though.

After watching his film, I don’t really know if we would offer. That does not mean he isn’t good, but I don’t see him being any more than a special teams player and may help in sub packages. You can tell he loves contact, but he would drive some around here crazy since he does not wrap up haha

4* WR Xzavier Henderson 6-3.5/180 FL hudl

Hard to tell what's up in Bama's recruitment of Henderson. He took his OV to Bama on Sep 27, UGA on Oct 19, UF on Nov 29 and Clemson on Dec 13. “Going to Alabama made the decision a lot harder,” Henderson said after his visit to the Capstone this fall. “Just the legacy of receivers they have. Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley and the ones they have now — Jaylen Waddle, Jerry Jeudy, and Henry Ruggs, a lot of great receivers come out of the program.” (BOL)

Huff is Henderson's primary recruiter, Wiggins secondary. BOL didn't report any UA staff visiting him during the Dec. Contact Period. But since he plans to announce at the All-American Bowl on Jan 4 and UA staff was visiting other UA WR targets and commits in FL, I think they probably did visit him and are in regular contact with him. We're now in a Dead Period (12/16-01/16) -- no in-person contact.

Only 2 CBs during Sep through Dec: On Oct 2, Clemson mod Anna Hickey flipped her CB from CU to Foggy and reported that Arian Smith had become their top WR target, but Clemson soon shifted back to pushing for Henderson. On Dec 16, she reported that she thinks Clemson has a solid lead, but also said that he did not secretly sign early. Also on Dec 16, a UF mod CBd him to Clemson.

Is it just me or is there waaaaayyy too much talk about Kirby Smart here? Yes, he got Washington, Evans and will get Ringo, which means that Georgia will sign the no. 1 class this year (and the way he will have done that won't have been kosher), but it is about finding the RIGHT recruits (not the highest rated ones) and how you coach them up. And that is where we can win.

Yeah...I think Kirby may have missed his window.

They’ll have an average offense again next year and then have to rebuild with a new QB in 2021.

It’s all about the QB nowadays.

It’s hard to get rid of the “they can’t get a QB taint” once it’s on you. Just ask LSU.
