Agreed. Not to excuse Murphy, he certainly needs to up his game with everyone else, but the Ole Miss's, Auburn's, Kentucky's and Arkansas' we used to beat up on all the time simply don't exist anymore. Many of the SEC schools are currently fielding some of the best teams they've ever had in program history.

The SEC has been draining talent from the country ever since the mid 2000s and Alabama's title win opened the flood gates. The South has the near year round good weather of California and the West Coast without all the big city head aches and the schedules involve at LOT less taxing travel and the coaching level has steadily risen in the last 10 years.

So how is that any different from any other sport we compete in except maybe hockey? That’s just the way it is. You’d better be ready to compete with the VERY best in this league in anything. Nut up or get out.

So your saying we didnt compete this year. I agree with the above post that the sec is the better than its EVER, been as a conferance. We were never swept in any conference series and had many 1 run losses. With 4 or so players in and out of lineup with injuries. (Demi,Osorio,Hemphill,Grantham) using a true freshman and transfer pitcher exclusivly for 2 weeks and true freshman at second base the first of the year.
. That happened to our football with linebacker injuries this year and we struggled. Now I will state that I dont want to settle with getting 2 out of 3 wins at the likes of arkansas, ole miss, ect. Next year will be watched and judged somewhat more critical I think. It seems the season ended up on a better note than I expected. The sec is stacked and coaching in it week in and week out you have to adapt to survive. Now up next is a very good huskey team thafs playing well and at home. Where would you rather be ar super regional time? Setting at home watching in lee county or in Seattle!

The difference might be that the SEC is stronger in women's softball than any other sport.

How many times has Osorio gave up a lead or lost a game in the final inning. She just can't go the distance and Murphy never pulls her.

Do we have another pitcher? I'm a casual fan but 142 pitches damn that's a lot.

Edit: Just saw she's hit 180+ before

Conditioning is poor. Tired and can’t throw the rise for a strike or even a chase pitch. The last 2 innings they basically could lay off the rise because it was over their head.

If we can push the the next two games that far, I'll take it. A month ago I would have said we get swept without scoring as much as a run.

from the looks of it. it seems murphy has put the team on his personal training regiment. fat-n-slow. i turned it off when they gave up the tying runs in the bottom of the 7th
