Brett Favre Still Hasn't Paid Back $600K In Mississippi Welfare Funds
© Anderson Independent Mail-USA TO
Last year, former Packers legend Brett Favre quickly promised to repay $1.1 million in Mississippi welfare funds for work he reportedly never performed. We haven't heard much about that story until now, because he still hasn't paid it...
quote:

According to Anna Wolfe of Mississippi Today, Favre has not yet paid the remaining $600,000.

“My agent is often approached by different products and brands for me to appear in one way or another,” Favre tweeted when the issue arose last May. “This request was no different, and I did numerous ads for Families First.”

Last week, Favre’s longtime agent, Bus Cook, told Mississippi Today that “he had nothing to do with Favre’s contract” with the Mississippi Community Education Center, a nonprofit that received (and spent) millions in welfare funds from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

He had the "wrong" opinion on the George Floyd case when he stated it's hard to believe that Chauvin meant to kill Floyd. This is the media trying to dig up dirt for those "wrong thoughts".

Yes because putting your knee on a man's neck that says he can't breathe is not trying to kill him...Seriously, it seems the lot of you have to literally have something happen to the closest person in your life before you have any care at all.

Datbayoubengal - you dumbass, his knee was on his shoulder, not his neck.. it’s been verified in court. But please, allow the media to continue to fuel your ignorance

He charges that much to do commercials that will be seen mostly in Mississippi? Who ever signed the contract for his 'work' and the subsequent checks a crash course in finanacial responsibility. How were they ever going to get any return on the dollars given Favre?

Did he do the job or not? Either he was owed the money for services completed or he wasn’t. I don’t understand the real issue here.

This. They paid him to do commercials, He did commercials. Now, they want the money back and are slandering him in the media? A good agent would have taken the hit in public, then gotten paid in private. He also would have blamed it all on gubmint bureaucracy.

I'm confused. What does he owe them for?

He doesn't. The nonprofit stole money from the state and some of that was uses to pay him to appear at events. He isn't under any legal obligation to give that money back to the state, but he volunteered to do so.
