Paul Finebaum Declares Clemson Is College Football’s “Best Program” Right Now

ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum crowned who he thinks is the currently the best program in college football while on WFNZ this week...

“I think anyone realistic has to say that Nick Saban should be regarded as the No. 1 coach in the country with six national championships, however I do the think debate is pretty healthy about which program is the best right now. You guys know my resume and where I’ve lived (30 years in Alabama), but I don’t think there’s really a tremendous amount of debate that Clemson, right now, has the best program in America.

It has passed Alabama in terms of appeal, showroom value and upward mobility. A lot of that is because of Saban’s age and a lot of that is because Clemson is a lot more fun to go play at than the University of Alabama.”

"....a lot of that is because Clemson is a lot more fun to go play at than the University of Alabama.” Surprised he would go there. I'm not a Finebaum fan, but he's right. Clemson has won 2 national titles in the past 3-4 years, and they have Sunshine for 2-3 more seasons.

Dabo is doing one thing that many staffs don't get, which companies do get. That is culture. He is really building something there and if Bama doesn't scoop him up, they will have a Florida State-like run with 15 years finishing in the top 5.
