The WNBA All-Star Game is tonight and players came out for their pregame warmups in black t-shirts that said "Pay Us What You Owe Us." The message comes amid an ongoing battle between the WNBA and the players' union. Talks over a new collective bargaining agreement have reportedly stalled and some of the players have been openly critical of the WNBA's unwillingness to budge on certain issues... (The Spun)

Hilarious. WNBA has never turned a profit. Also, if we pay based on performance, you owe us.

They want to actually owe money?

If they were paid what they earned, they would get $100 a game and have to ride on 40-year-old, unairconditioned, Greyhound buses.

If my company was losing money hand over fist I wouldn’t be demanding a pay raise. None of these WNBA teams make a cent. Really tone deaf bunch.

Sometimes I sing karaoke so I demand to be paid as much as artists signed to major record labels.

Where do they think this money would come from? NBA players are paid off generated revenue from ticket sales, merchandise, etc. I don’t even have an economics degree to figure this out. Guess they should’ve paid four time all star Brittnie Hicks more

They are being paid what they are worth and what they agreed to.

I read an article that said for the league to break even the players would have to pay the league $80,000 a year.

No, they are being paid WAY MORE than they're worth. Two decades and the WNBA has NEVER BEEN PROFITABLE!

The WNBA is unprofitable and wouldn't survive without the huge subsidies provided by the NBA. These players are absolutely clueless.

CC is the only one who has the right to wear that shirt. Nobody else in that league is creating revenue.

Yes, but she can't ever acknowledge that. It would be admitting her "Whote Privilege"

$200,000,000 in league wide revenue. That's league wide. Believe they should make 7 figure salaries and get revenue share. For perspective, the SEC generated $840,000,000 in 2024. Math is very hard for WNBA players

Tell them that is fine.
The NBA will give them freedom to negotiate their own tv contracts and lease agreements and the subsidy faucet is officially closed the WNBA is a stand alone league. When they close up shop in 3 seasons they can go work at foot locker and get "Paid what they are owed"

Get rid of that trash league. Make them play with a regulation ball for men and put their sorry asses against a state champion level 6A high school and watch them get their asses handed to them. We are talking about these “all stars”. These dumbasses are being supplemented and are a losing proposition.

This is the problem with helping people. The nba tried to help women with a league of their own and now it’s bad PR and a liability.
It’s like the guy I gave a free place to live for 3 months because I wanted to do the right thing and then ended up having to take him to court to evict him after that agreed upon 3 months instead of doing the honorable thing.
Anymore, people only care about 1 thing, themselves. No has honor or morals.
