Jacques Doucet caught up with LSU star freshman Derek Curiel after the Tigers won the National Championship on Sunday to discuss the NCAA's decision only to play the instrumental version of his walkup song at the College World Series.

Later in the day, Doucet said the lyrics were removed "because of the artist (Kanye West), not because of its Christian genre or content," according to an LSU source.

DC is a very impressive young man. May God continue to bless him.

I bet most people in the stadium would not even know (or care) about Kanye being the artist for Derek's walk-up song.

His message is clear. He loves Jesus. He has been blessed with great talent, and he is thankful to the one that gave it to him

A governing body representing collegiate athletes, who are attending a university where the ability to think for yourself and learn from a wide variety of people from many backgrounds and cultures, sensors an artist. NCAA needs to go away.

Since no one had the sense to tell. The name of the song is “God Is”. Check out the lyrics. I think the NCAA is picking a fight they don’t want. I hope more athletes will choose songs like this.
