TJ Finley Officially Announces His Decision To Transfer

@ByUselves - I wouldn't say he was a lot better. Brandon Harris had a rocket for an arm too, just like Finley. Harris just had the misfortune of playing for Miles in that terrible offense. Harris, Jennings, and a Jordan Jefferson all get dumped on a lot on here, but I wish these guys could have played in an offense like Joe Burrow played in. If they played terrible in that type of offense, then people would still have the right to dump on them, but somehow I don't think they would have played terrible in an RPO Spread type of offense. Also, Harris gets dumped on for playing bad when he was at North Carolina, but I mean shite, the damage was already done to him. Lol It would have taken HC Fedora a lot more than just 1 season to undo the damage done to the kid playing in Miles' crap LSU offense.

Ok. Tell me exactly when TJ was going to have things “kick in” and learn how to be more aware in the pocket? Have his footwork improve? Improve his ability to read a Defense? Improve his running ability? Improve his accuracy? How do some of you not see these problems in TJ?

rob62 - I've been down this road with you I believe, you're one of this kid's biggest critics and you're mostly full of shite. Lol None of that crap you say is true, the kid can move about in the pocket fairly well and showed it in the games he was successful in against Mizzou and SC. He looked bad against Alabama, Auburn, and Texas A&M because those teams had really good defenses that were all over him from the start with LSU's lousy OLine doing hardly any blocking. There is nothing wrong with his ability to read a defense either, y'all need to quit with that BS. The kid's problem is staring down his primary receiver far too long, and he needs to learn to go through his progressions quickly and find the open target. Also, why in the hell does he need to improve his running ability according to you?? Does Brennan run well?? shite, Max Johnson is slow at running the ball. TJ Finley is a big kid that does not need to run that much, but when he does he moves well for someone that size and showed it last season. Also, a lot of you are full of it with the accuracy BS, if you looked at the Spring game on his second drive he moved the team well completing pass after pass before staring down a WR and throwing his second INT. Just stop with the BS already, a lot of you never gave this kid a chance from the start with criticism that was overboard at times. I hope the kid lights it up at the school he transfers to!

tucoco, you really don’t know what you are talking about. I have no problem with TJ Finley as a person because I don’t know hom or his family. However, that is not what I discussed about him. His traits as a QB are what they are and in all fairness I say what I say because I am rebutting all the crap spouted by people like you who parrot stupidity they have read as fact. First, TJ Finley lost to Auburn because of his own mistakes caused by himself. His fumble resulting in a scoop and score was all on him. His interceptions were as well. Same thing against A&M. That pick six was all on TJ and that is exactly why Orgeron climbed TJ’s arse for not stepping up and then trying to force a ball into double coverage. Regarding TJ’s footwork, it has been poor since he arrived at LSU. Numerous footwork drills from practice are available on video and it is obvious that TJ lacks agility and quickness in his footwork. You can deny this all you want but it is true nonetheless. TJ is also slow of foot and slow in his decision making & that leads to him being pressured and throwing off his back foot. I am well versed in football and I know what I see and I know TJ Finley has inherent flaws in his game which will follow him wherever he goes. I said all this at the time TJ Finley committed to LSU & I thought then and I think now that TJ Finley would not be a top notch QB at the SEC Level. Whether I like TJ or not is beside the point. TJ does not have the talent that Max Johnson, Brennan, Nussmeyer, and next season Walker Howard possess.
