Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire spoke at the Big 12 media days on Tuesday and referenced Brian Kelly's previous statements about wanting to play Big Ten teams, which led McGuire to say he would love to play LSU in a home-and-home series...

Anyone interested in a home-and-home series with the Red Raiders?

Spent an eventful year in Lubbock in 1972-73 going thru pilot training for the AF at Reese AFB. Great people but the spring dust storms are something else.

I say schedule them. But if they have tons of NIL money, please don’t schedule them in week 1.

Lubbock is a lot better than BR in many ways. Lot more $$$$$ too

Outside of LSU and St. George, everywhere is better than BR.

People not liking Lubbock aside, anybody else downplaying Texas Tech obviously doesn't follow the national landscape. They are pumping MONEY, BIG TIME MONEY, into that football program. For starters their transfer portal for this year is paying out crazy. They have 11 4 star players from it with the top 6 being on the OL and DL. Saw an article before last season of how they run their recruiting program like an NFL front office

Probably because we haven’t won an opener since Joe Burrow was our quarterback.

Lubbock can't handle the influx of people
user avatar
Yeah, they can. I've been there. They drink a lot and room.

I keep hearing people say Ttech has tons of money. Do they have a billionaire donor?

No thanks. I'd rather keep Lubboch, TX in my rearview mirror.

They have a huge donor base that’s just starting to step up and will be building a roster to compete. May be attractive in a few years.

I’ve got a couple dozen friends and coworkers that are from Lubbock. They are definitely my kinda crazy arse folks.

They weren't very competitive the last time we played them.

With Pat Mahomes

That would be 10000x’s better than playing La Tech and Southeastern in the same season.

Been to Lubbock, no thanks

Verge would make it so LSU would have to go there first and they would never return the trip.

Fine but this is one time you want a neutral site, like Dallas for the away. Lubbock is a barren wasteland.

Lubbock is the premier venue in the Big 12. Jones Stadium is newly renovated, loud and rowdy. Fans show up early and like to have a good time.

As someone who has lived in Lubbock and Baton Rouge, the culture surrounding each university align pretty well.

Easier to fly into Lubbock than BR in most cases anyway. If it happens, it would be worth the travel to an actual campus rather than Jerry World, IMO.

Rhett Lashlee is building one helluva program at SMU. I’m surprised his Alma mater Arky hasn’t come calling yet.

To be fair, TT has that wallet wide open when it comes to recruiting/transfer portal, so who knows what type of team they’ll have in the not so distant future.

Who?
