LSU quarterback Myles Brennan made the decision to step away from football after five seasons with the Tigers and sent out this farewell message on Monday afternoon:
quote:

Tiger Nation,

Over the last five years, I have given all of my body, heart, and soul to LSU Football. Playing for LSU has been a dream come true. Wearing the purple and gold, running into Death Valley, winning a national championship, and starting at quarterback for the LSU Tigers -what more could a kid ask for? I will never forget the time I've spent and the memories I have made here.

To the players who have suited up alongside me; to the coaches who recruited, signed, and developed me; to the training staff who has cared for me; to the support staff who has provided everything I needed to compete at the highest level and continue my education; and to the fans who cheered for me every step of the way: thank you. I want to say thank you to the student body, the administration, and the entire LSU fan base for all your tremendous support over the last five years. I will never forget my time in Baton Rouge. I love LSU and all our fans.

I am forever grateful for every opportunity I've been given, every obstacle I've overcome, and every second I've been a Tiger. However, after five seasons, it is time for me to start a new chapter in my life. I am announcing today that I will be stepping away from football. I am thankful for where this journey has taken me so far, and I am looking forward to where it takes me next.

"to the coaches who recruited, signed, and developed me"
No "thank you" to the existing staff. Good luck Myles and thanks for your time spent here.

Every coach that didn't recruit or sign him developed him. That would include Kelly and Denbrock

Kelly and staff have been there since before spring so they would fall under the coaches who helped *develop* category

So refreshing to read a grammatically correct post from a player

Hey good ol boys, the "culcha" is watching. And the "culcha" also suits up every Saturday. Respect ALL of purple n gold, not just your culture.

Did BK lie to him to bring him back?

What a dumb comment. Im sure BK shot him straight when he came back just like he did when he told him he didn't win the starting job

I’ll. Call BK and ask him for you. Stand by.

Myles is a good dude, and comes from good stock. He will always be a Tiger. So sorry all those tough breaks were just too much to overcome.

He helped the team and other QBs push hard in the offseason. He did his part and now he is moving on. This is a man decision by him and he has been a hell of a Tiger and always will be.

Miles tried very hard to improve his game but he finally recognized his limitations. A good decision to stop a career in football at the right time ( to many injuries also.) God bless and geaux fighting tigers.

Myles had an arm that few NFL quarterbacks even have. Injuries just took their toll. I’ll always remember him for finishing the Mizzou game with a torn core. He was a tough son of a bitch. Wish him the best in whatever he decides is next in his life.

I like his decision to quit football before he gets injured further…injuries were starting to mount up on his body. Time to get on with the rest of his life. Thanks for being a Tiger!

People have dreams and goals. Sometimes reality shows them a specific dream or goal is unattainable. So, yes, they quit trying to achieve that goal and move on to another. A "quitter" is someone who gives up easily. Myles Brennan, in his 6th year of trying and competing, is not a "quitter".
