LSU dropped two spots to No. 13 in ESPN's College Football Power Rankings following the Tigers 34-10 victory over Arkansas.

Teams that moved ahead of LSU after Week 8 were Indiana and Tennessee.

No. 13 LSU Tigers
Previous ranking: 11

LSU might have been a bit of an afterthought in the playoff conversation after a season-opening loss to USC. But not anymore. The Tigers (6-1, 3-0) have won six in a row and took care of Arkansas 34-10 on the road Saturday. LSU controlled the second half after leading 16-7 at the break. The Tigers had the football 17 minutes more than the Razorbacks and finished with 393 total yards.

One of the big questions about this LSU team was how much better it would be on defense. The Tigers are clearly better on that side of the ball and forced three turnovers Saturday. Their game at Texas A&M on Saturday looms large for their quest for a playoff spot. The Tigers still have Alabama at home and Florida on the road in November after getting a bye following the Texas A&M game. -- Chris Low

Also, a Notre Dame team that lost at home to Northern Illinois they put ahead of LSU. We have to win out get to the SEC Championship game to get anywhere. Looking back that USC debacle really looks stupid at this point. Should have never lost that game.

Dominant win in all phases of the game...drop in polls? Makes senses. Just keep winning and itll all work out.

Im sure it's some sort of weighted score and since USC lost again, our loss to them dropped our score. I have no idea how they do the poll but that's my assumption.

I have no problem with this drop only from the standpoint that it'll keep the team motivated from the slight by ESPN.
