A new first-round NFL Mock Draft from CBS Sports has LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. shooting up the draft board to No. 14 overall to the New Orleans Saints.

The mock draft has LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels as the Washington Commanders' No. 2 overall pick and wide receiver Malik Nabers going No. 6 to the New York Giants.
quote:

Pick 2 - Washington Commanders
QB Jayden Daniels
Prospect Rank - 5th
Position Rank - 3rd

Washington is going to take a rookie quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. The only question is whether it will be Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye. In this scenario, they take a more mobile Daniels to be the face of the franchise.

Pick 6 - New York Giants
WR Malik Nabers
Prospect Rank - 3rd
Position Rank - 2nd

New York lacks a No. 1 wide receiver who can create his own opportunities. Malik Nabers has great body control down the field. He would be a great complement to what the Giants already have in Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt.

Pick 14 - New Orleans Saints
WR Brian Thomas Jr.
Prospect Rank - 20th
Position Rank - 4th

New Orleans is moving on from Michael Thomas so that puts a lot of emphasis on Chris Olave. Brian Thomas Jr. is not as versatile as Olave, but he does bring a new element to the offense.

Man I hope Daniels doesn't get picked by the former redskins.

One of the teams I refuse to root for

Comanches are going to bring Caleb Williams back home to DC…and hilarity will ensue

He’s right about Olave and BTJ bringing a new element. BTJ can catch.

So CBS’s prospect rankings are:
1) MHJ
2) Caleb
3) Malik
4) Maye
5) Jayden

Unless I’m reading it wrong, CBS ranks their prospects overall and by position. Hence the “prospect rank/ position rank” above. I was just commenting on who they have as their top 5 overall prospects. Obviously the draft won’t go in that order (unless something crazy happens), just found it interesting. I thought Jayden was QB2 (with some thinking he was 1) by almost all the draft sites.

Saints would be replacing one Thomas with another, very similar playing style also.

Their playing is style is nothing alike. They're almost complete opposites.

Wow, BT to the Saints at 14. Wouldn’t happen if Payton was still coach.

Still trying to figure out what makes the other two QBs a better prospect than Daniels. Because I’m not seeing it.

This is literally one of the dumbest takes I’ve ever seen on TD…..and that’s saying alot. Almost everything that Brian Thomas does as a receiver is elite. He’s an absolute freak athlete as proven in the combine. And he’s one of the best blocking receivers I e ever seen in NCAA ball
