re: Hawks honoring strip club and culture

There's not gonna be strippers.
But…it’s still a strip club.
And the way they’re trying to say this is some iconic representation of the city of Atlanta and black culture specifically is an embarrassment to Atlanta and black people. Or at least it should be.
But hey, lemon pepper wings I guess. :/
What a crappy thread.
In seriousness, fiber my dude. Powder form, more leafy greens, doesn’t matter. Get it in however you can unless you want hemorrhoids.

Its a reality, whether anyone likes it or not. If there wasnt so much weeping about "muh racism" then maybe we could start solving these issues.
Your point is valid, but in fairness, the majority of people who point to stats like this aren’t exactly trying to “solve” anything.
I think “trying to solve” an issue would involve doing like you said, looking at the individual cases and looking at commonalities. If the only commonality and causal factor one finds/presents (even if done in good faith) is “they’re black”, then of course black people, particularly black men (the majority of which don’t beat their wives/girlfriends) would object. What sane, well adjusted person wouldn’t?
And, if it really is the case that the answer is “black people commit more domestic violence”, and that’s just that, then there’s really only one solution right?

NO, It's backing in to park. You guys never heard it called combat--as in faster exit?
I have never once heard it called that. But I am aware that it makes it faster/safer to exit.
Which begs the question, why would you think this should not be an option for people who drive smaller cars?

I have noticed that my mind tends to “obsess” over certain things now and my interests have changed some.
Indirectly, maybe? I’d guess the direct cause is probably more diet/hormone related. “Feel good foods” do just what they say they do. But I’m guessing you’ll normalize if you stay with it.
And, congrats and good on ya!

Holy shite that's bad. I get that including everyone over 50 means the 85 year olds will be close to out of money, but damn. I'm nearly there in age and I'm way better than that, even after the ex-wife got a chunk in 22.
Also these numbers don’t include defined benefit plans/pensions, so while it might not be a number to aspire to, people can and do build lifestyles that work for them.
I think the main takeaway is whether you get to $200K, $2M or $20MM, do it on purpose. Don’t just end up in retirement with some surprise amount of money.
quote:
Median savings for all employed adults between the ages of 21 and 64 amounted to $955, the nonpartisan think tank found, tapping data from the U.S. Census Bureau's Survey of Income and Program Participation.
For workers who do have retirement savings, the median balance stands at $40,000, the group found
Not saying we don’t have a retirement issue, but that $955 number includes almost all adult employees whether they are saving or not.
And the $40K median is still all ages. I think I read somewhere that the median for people over 50 is $200K.
Again, not saying there’s nothing to worry about but I can see how these numbers could mislead people.
re: Anyone else ever learned the company you work for is actively seeking buyers?

I’ve been on the opposite end (I work for a company that acquired another a few years ago). The acquired company was large enough that it was really a merger for all practical purposes.
My take:
There are some things that I really miss about the old firm, some things I really like about the new combined one. Everyone tried in earnest to keep what worked from both companies. It wasn’t perfect but overall I say it worked.
There was immediate pressure from Wall Street to reduce expenses. Lots of layoffs, but they took care of people with nice severances. They also offered an early retirement deal that was really good, which sucked for the rest of us because it resulted in a lot of experience walking out there door when we needed that the most.
One thing that irked me was the C-suites insistence that “the merger was behind us” like a year after it was finalized…to the extent that they didn’t want people saying the names of the legacy firms in meetings anymore. Which is retarded when you literally have legacy systems, processes, teams, etc still functioning.
TL:DR, you might get let go, hopefully they take care of you if you do. If you stay, it’s probably going to be a mixed bag of “good” and “bad”.

Owners want increased revenue regardless of a revenue split with the players. They aren’t doing it to “keep up” with a cap split, the cap is set AFTER the money is made.
I think the point being made is that the cap is going up in general because fans are paying more.
It has gone up by a 3rd over four years. Unless the fan based grew by that much, then each fan, on average, is paying more to consume NFL content and the players (and owners as you stated) are benefiting.
And that’s not me throwing shade, it’s simply what’s happening. If people will pay those prices to watch games then good on the NFL for making money.

Why not?
I think the important question here is “to what end”?
What are we trying to accomplish by mandating reading of the bible?
As a Christian, I believe that God is God. And the bible is His inspired and perfect word. I read the bible because of who I believe God to be…that’s why it has value. If you don’t believe God is God, it is of little value and will likely do nothing for you…
Except perhaps turn you away from any possible path to God Himself because someone forced you to read it.
