I get it but, you probably ought to share some core values with the person you’re procreating with.
The kid is 50% her and (at least at the moment) 50% hers….maybe make sure she isn’t insane first?

IMHO, there are places on this earth that living humans are not meant to go just for kicks and giggles.
Under the damned ground is somewhere near the top of that list.

They'd forget to pick them up and you'd have those all over the roadways.
Maybe chocks (like the ones they use for aircraft) might be a better solution.
Easier to remember to pull them before you let someone go and they won’t accidentally damage someone’s tires if the cop does forget.
quote:
You’re already detained during a traffic stop, as you aren’t free to terminate the interaction. Constructive detention is more relevant in a situation in which someone isn’t complying.
That makes sense, so really no difference between the act of pulling someone over and physically preventing them from driving away.
Guess now that I’m thinking about it, it’s no different than a cop blocking your car with his.
Serious question, would that be legal/constitutional in a technical sense?
In my mind, that sounds like you’ve been detained…would cops need to read you your rights before they do something like that?

My guess is that they weren’t listening to everything, they probably heard pieces of the conversation and (rapidly) pieced together the rest of what was being said shortly after they were done speaking.
It’s incredibly impressive and definitely a distinctly female trait (although I’m sure males can learn how to do it). My two youngest (girls) do this with their friends. It looks like chaos but they all can recall almost perfectly what was said by everyone else.

I’ve WFH for eight years now. It’s been fantastic for me and my family.
But man, if you really can’t see the pros of being in an office environment and the cons of working from home, you’re not really honestly assessing either.

This.
Just wait it out. Anyone who owns a home, car, etc will very quickly get tired of the lawless bullshite and be begging for law enforcement.
Looks like a normal neighborhood with working folks and families, I’ll be surprised if this isn’t resolved in days.

For the sake of the sport, I hope so.
He’s out of his mind, maybe even a little coked up. But he may be the embodiment one of the last bastions of pure college football fandom.

Am I the only person considering not following college sports any longer?
I’d say I still pay attention, but I’m not particularly invested in any of it.
From the top down, it’s every man for himself, and for me, it’s weirdly transparent. Like watching a stage play where the 4th wall just disappears. I just don’t really want to engage any deeper than “oh this is interesting”.
I’m sure they’ll still get views from people who enjoy the spectacle, but it will be interesting to see what happens when they run out of people who genuinely care about it.

This sounds like some liberal eugenics crap.
Saying “I’m going to be sterile and barren to prolong my own life” definitely sounds like a lib talking point, so I think you’re on to something.

My beef with the Catholic church is the fact that you have to be a confirmed Catholic and have an up-to-date confession in order to receive communion. Other churches don't care who you are, they allow you to receive communion. That, and they want you to attend a year's worth of catechism classes - IN PERSON - in order to be confirmed. Like, can't I do this online?
As a non-Catholic, I honestly think this is more of a feature than a bug.
Your actions should follow your beliefs on some way….if one claims to be a practicing Catholic…then one should practice Catholicism. :dunno:

I know the Catholic Church has been in the news a lot, but I mean, there are creepy humans everywhere, even in Protestant and nondenominational churches.
If you let terrible people who practice a faith be the avatar for that faith, the only place to go is atheism.
re: The Future Is Here: AI-Generated Police Report Claims Officer Turned into Frog
Posted by Dadren on 1/6/26 at 1:12 pm to Auburn1968
quote:
In one particularly glaring instance, the AI software picked up on background chatter from the Disney movie The Princess and the Frog that was playing during the creation of the report. This led to the bizarre inclusion that the responding officer was himself transforming into a frog.
I think this is an example of AI’s (specific LLMs) biggest hurdle. Interpreting a world that it doesn’t physically exist in. I just don’t see how you bridge that gap of not having the context that someone would have by “actually being there”.
A less ridiculous example of this is Tesla FSD. It’s fantastic, but does not-so-great things sometimes mainly for this reason. So I’m at a red light on a really windy day, the lights are swaying back and forth. The car slowly starts to move into the intersection so I hit the brakes to take over, and as I’m glancing at the screen, I see that the stop lights look like flashing reds, and that’s how the car interpreted them.
Now, that’s a mistake no human is ever going to make, but it’s understandable for an AI using cameras to interpret light colors at an intersection. There are a lot of tiny problems like that FSD is trying to solve…and that’s just driving. There are probably billions of little micro-problems like this that AI is going to encounter while it tries to interact with an entire world it doesn’t live in.
TL;DR AI is amazing…and it’s not going to be doing everyone’s job anytime soon. And if it is doing a job, supervise the hell out of it.

True. But then the 49ers gave Brock $250MM.
None of those guys are going to get close to that over their entire college careers and all of them are almost certainly going to earn more than $5MM/year on their rookie contracts.
I’m just not seeing a scenario where it pays to hang around in college unless you’re likely to be a roster bubble/practice squad guy. Those guys will (and should) be fighting for every year of eligibility they can get.

I’ll go against the grain a bit here and say she’s not (totally) crazy.
If she is a devoted Protestant and she believes that the Catholic worship experience and belief system is incompatible spiritually with what she believes to the point that she would be unequally yoked to you…then she would be right to say you two can’t be married.
You and I may disagree with her about the extent of that incompatibility but that doesn’t matter. It’s her line to draw.
Similarly, she shouldn’t be throwing your literature in the trash either. That’s completely out of bounds, so both of you have a valid reason to part ways IMO.

AM Church on Easter Sunday.
We usually do Saturday service. Did Easter morning one year and quickly remembered why we switched to Saturday. Way too many of the Lord’s children for me.

Good stuff man.
When your life is ordered within a proper hierarchy (ideally with God at the top) things just turn out right. Not only in your career but in all aspects.
